I was listening to Rome the other day and he was talking about Bron and then he started talking about the hype. His comment was that Bron met and exceeded the hype and the only only person that has ever done that is Tiger Woods. I started thinking and thought that was very interesting. Who else do you think has met thier hype or has the potential to?I think Joe Mauer has met his hype. Before he was drafted and when he was coming up, he was the best prospect in baseball the whole time. When the Twins took him, they were expecting a future superstar. It's not really something we heard about alot because we don't pay attention to prospects in other sports like we do in basketball and even football. Since then, Mauer has put up MVP-like numbers.I think Eli Manning and Reggie Bush could meet their expectations, but we'll have to see. Who do you like?

Tiger Woods had unbelieveable hype, he was going to be the best golfer ever and has come through and done it. LeBron James had the most hype of any player to come out since I've been alive. And look what he's done. He's probably the best player in the NBA and is destined for greatness. Joe Mauer, Eli Manning and Reggie Bush all have great potential but they didn't have nearly the pressure on them that Woods and LeBron had. They were supposed to come in and change everything, be 2 of the best the sport has ever seen. Joe Mauer was expected to be an elite catcher and has, Manning was expected to be an elite QB and he's on his way, Reggie Bush was expected to a great runningback and he's on his way. Most highly touted NBA guys come through, and most NFL ones as well. But a lot of baseball studs fall through the cracks I've noticed and don't for some reason put it together. Good topic.
