Hunter: Sides fail to reach deal, says lockout is next
Posted Jun 30 2011 12:35PM - Updated Jun 30 2011 3:30PM
NEW YORK (AP) -- NBA players are locked out, possibly jeopardizing next season.
Union chief Billy Hunter said Thursday afternoon that owners had locked out the players after failing to reach a new collective bargaining agreement.

With this latest action, two of four major professional sports in the United States are locked out. The NFL locked out its players in March, and the two sides have been in discussions this week, trying to work toward a new deal.

It will be a weird Fall/Winter for me if neither the NFL nor the NBA reach a deal.

They'll reach deals, both leagues. OR ELSE!

If you're accurate about your location, the Leafs are a big part of the life of your city. I think the NBA is going to follow the path Bettman took the NHL down a few years ago. This one is going to hurt.

Technically, the lock-out can't officially begin until 9pm PDT tonight. Until, then the current CBA is still valid.

After that, I hope everybody has a fantastic summer, and I'll be back once the lock-out is over!

Anybody want to rent out their basement to me and my family?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk..... Cause I'm a balla'!

The lockout was officially officialized in an official manner 7 minutes ago.

It is now T + 70 minutes and counting.

I can't take it anymore! This has been going on forever! When will it end?

Any word on when this thing is going to end!

That's it, I'm done with the NBA. I'm selling all my jerseys. These are low-quality, high cost jerseys. There are 20 of them, and I paid $2500 each, on average. I'll let you have all of them for just $75,000 cash. Or your wife, if she's cute and doesn't talk too much.
