With Nova now in his Minor League Rehab period and assuming he returns say early July, do you put him in Warren's spot and move Warren to that 7th inning spot in the bullpen. Give Shreve and Lindgren the 6th or long. Warren has been getting better with every start, I wish that the Yanks would just eat CC or move him to that rag arm in the bullpen role but that will never happen. And as a side note, could Drew be the first second baseman to hit below the Mendoza line and have 20+homers in a year.

Under ideal conditions Tanaka is #1, Pineda, #2 Nova # 3, Warren #4. Eovaldi, and the two CC's can fight it out for # 5 and the Pen. Don't know if the ideal conditions would in fact happen there are ifs. I'm in agreement on Sabathia, turn him lose or put him in the pen. I can't see where he's making an effort to perform in conjunction with his generous salary. And get Rogers DFA, that man flat out sucks. Though Drew has surprised he still bears watching, waiting to see what mid year deals could happen. Idiot stick Cashman did bring some nice pieces last year but they escaped through free agency or trade.

One thing about Yankee management & YES, they will sell the
"goods" for all they are worth(less). Tired of hearing that
CRapuano, Carpenter, & Rogers are proven major leaguers.......
getting their game in order. Any Yankee fan knows this
message is total bullshit. These pitchers do not belong on
the Yankees' roster. If I were doling out their salaries, I
should be fired. But I guess the Yankees have enough money
to throw away......and shelter the guys who make the decisions. Hmmmmm.

Frank I don't see Nova coming back for several weeks yet so Warren is probably going to have 2-3 more starts. As will Sabathia. If Warren continues as he has been for the last 4 starts there's just no way you could take him from the rotation. If its up to me, 20+M or not I send Sabathia for long relief. As far as Drew, the trade deadline is what 6 weeks away? I really don't see any takers for him & also remember Ryan is due back any day now & he's basically a Drew clone only without power. I've got this bad feeling that Drew is here to stay.

I get the feeling the Yanks would prefer Warren in the pen and can't wait to move him to the pen.

WHAT!? Wait a second, what are you basing this on?

Just a feeling....as I said.
I do hope he continues to pitch well .....and if he somehow manages to be fairly consistent going 6+/7 innings per start they're eventually going to have to watch his seasonal IP since he's been a reliever the past couple of years.

And as write this.....Capuano is warming up in the pen.
Not farfetched to think the Yanks are hoping Capuano can pitch at least well enough for it NOT to be considered a joke if they put Warren back in the bullpen to handle the 7th inning with Capuano or Nova(?) back in the rotation.

Hopefully Warren keeps progressing and leaves no doubt.

I think Warren has pitched himself into the rotation.

There has been no doubt that he has earned the right to stay in the rotation, For the last month or more he has been outstanding.

BLG, you said you get the feeling that the Yankees would prefer to have Warren in the pen & can't wait to move him there. So I'll ask again, what do you base this on? did you read it somewhere, or do you have an inside source.? because I've heard nothing anywhere that even speculated that the Yankees CAN'T WAIT to move him to the pen. Educate me.

I haven't heard or read anything about it....
It's just what I said - a feeling - nothing serious.
The Yanks (and most other teams) having ideas about a bullpen along the lines of last year's KC pen with Warren being the 7th inning guy with Betances and Miller for 8/9.

Of course they would be crazy to take him out of the rotation after 5 straight good starts and they don't resent him for doing well as a SP, they obviously welcome it, but if or when he begins to falter as a starter and they have (in their opinion) other capable options for the rotation, they would lean towards having him in the pen for the 6th/7th innings....if he struggles as a SP.

As a matter of fact, I have since heard in the post game radio show, Suzyn Waldman saying Cashman has no intentions at all of moving him out of the rotation and she quoted Girardi saying if he has to go with all of the lefthanders in the pen for the season, he has no problem with it at all... (as long as they are effective).

Looks like Shreve has moved up in the pecking order and quite possibly Lindgren is staying.
Shreve has handled RH batters so far and Lindgren can get anyone out with his sharp slider.
But I did hear Girardi say after Friday night regarding Rogers:
"we have to get him going".
I'm not buying it - Rogers and/or Wilson could be out when Nova returns.

I've been quiet on your posts for a while now but on this I have to say that the above is some of the finest back peddling I've seen in a long time. You have this gift of making posts sound like FACT only to change it into a personal OPINION when challenged on it. Perhaps you should read your posts first before hitting, POST REPLY. Just a thought.

What the heck is wrong with you guys?
You asked me twice, and I told you twice- "just a feeling".
I think the words "Yankees can't wait" (to move Warren to pen) were sorta confusing....

....perhaps I should've instead said:
the Yankees wouldn't mind too much if Warren didn't work out as a SP and they put him back in the pen to handle the 6/7innings because it's the OBVIOUS sound option.

And yes, you could be misunderstanding me when I sometimes tend to try and think along with THE YANKEES' line of thinking and thought process regarding trades, acquisitions and player moves.

Did you think I was having meetings with Cashman and Girardi?
Do any of us believe this when we read how some other poster "feels" (opinion) when giving a reply/comment? jeez.

Reminds me of that "Shakespeare" quote:
Hey man, methinks your trying to make a mountain out of an ant hill.
lol

You're doing it again, how do you know the Yankees wouldn't mind too much if Warren didn't work out as a SP. Maybe they would. And I'm not MISUNDERSTANDING anything, its all in the way you put it. like you know for certain, like you're in the room when the Yankee brass are discussing things. "THE YANKEES WOULDN'T MIND" Really? you know this how.

This is why you cause so much controversy in most of your posts, Again seriously read your posts first before hitting POST REPLY.

...what's wrong with us?...lol...rick asked you a simple question, which was what do you based your "feeling" on, and you can't point to anything tangible to support it.
... Doesn't exactly make your feeling very compelling, but yeah, we're the ones with the problem.

I was hooked on a feeling once, 1974 Blue Swede or Suede, I can't remember'

Are you okay?

Are you okay?

No response to post #16? That's okay, point made..............................................................................................................................I hope.

And note that citing stats as tangible evidence doesn't count when you cherry pick data that best supports your feelings.

Look, we all have hunches, gut feelings as well as hopes/aspirations. But everyone here freely accepts the fact that we have imperfect data and insufficient evidence upon which to support our positions. Thus we do not characterize our OPINION as fact. We may cite observations, limited stats to explain the basis of our opinions....but that is it. You take it way too far, and too personal. That should underscore for you that you use FEELING as the basis and not FACT.

Being optimistic and hopeful, that's what fans do. But so is being critical...that also is the realm of fandom. You have to accept that these 2 states must coexist. 2015 has been an interesting year thus far. To everyone's surprise, and to your hopes, ARod continues to produce as one of the better DHs the Yanks have had in years. Tex is healthy and hitting for power in lieu of AVG. Gardner and Ellsbury (when heavy) are a potent 1-2.

But.....pitching is suspect. Pen a combination of brilliance and total junk. Defense is awful at times, too many errors. DiDi and Drew are horrid, and the fact is that Cashman's moves in the off season were a mistake as things stand today.

So, stop trying so hard to justify your FEELINGS. They stand on their own better if you don't try to rationalize them or try to convince others.

Good luck.

I know BJ made it popular but I thought someone else did it first? You're probably right. I figured some redneck from Arkansas might know.

...HA !...heard I was paged. BJ did it first...it was his first hit but by no means his biggest.

we could have like 2 guys hitting 200 that may have 20 Hrs. Drew and Young

Why are you so worked up about the way I care to express my opinion- which it clearly was?
Are you sure you read my post (#15)?....it was my second time explaining MY OPINION on that issue after you asked, twice.

Let me ask you a question:

Would it have made it easier or less "CONTROVERSIAL" if I had originally said something along the lines of: ?

The Yankees would prefer having another starter in place of Warren so they can use him (Warren) for the 6/7th innings.

Maybe, possibly, perhaps, you may have possibly, perhaps, maybe responded with:
Based on what?
I disagree....
I agree.....

Or not responded at all.

And if, possibly, maybe, perhaps you responded with:
Based on what?

I would've said something "CONTROVERSIAL" such as -
"that's just a feeling I have"....."Just my opinion".

Now can we stop walking around in circles?

Lmao
