^^^^^^^^^NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....where did you hear this?
does anyone think something is special about Charlies shoe that floated to the top of the water during the previous episode????...the camera was really focused in on it....

also a few of episodes ago when they flashed back to desmond meeting Penelope at that monk temple you could see a picture of the old white lady who helps desmond see into the future in a picture frame on one of the monks desk

here's a good place to go for clues, info, character connections, etc

That was amazing. The single greatest television moment I've ever witnessed. No sporting event comes close. No musical event comes close. No movie comes close. That's pure emotion. I teared up at the end. The unsaid dialogue and the pain in Jack's eyes alone encompass everything that is great about this show.

I love that it isn't just a "will they get off this island" type of show, as seeing it by that alone, makes it very dull. I think incorporating the thematic structures of outside life, and longing for this utopia that is the island in a sense is what makes it so wonderful.

I feel a lot of joy from this episode. With past episodes, I felt as if they were just cliff-hangars wanting me to wait until next season to figure out some kind of puzzle. Lost has transformed into a show where you're happy to be in the present with it, and not necessarily long for the next episode and next clue, and next action adventure. I guess I don't quite know how to explain what I feel, but hopefully in the coming days when this shock and awe droops down I can report back.

This episode was pretty great because:

1) Locke is alive! And Walt was with him (or at least his spirit was).
2) Kate looked really hott in that glimpse of the future.

3) Ben got his ass kicked and a lot of the Others were wiped out.
4) Last, Hurley was a hero! I felt bad for him but he saved the day.

Hopefully the last three seasons are as good as this season finale was.

I'm over LOST, lost all interest in it. Just drags on too long, they never answer anything, its just stupid now, I'm positive even the writers themselves have no idea whats going on, they just keep writing confusing storylines which have no real conclusion.

I was thinking that too MainMan. Then I thought maybe it was Sawyer's viewing (which is why Jack asked Kate if she went).

yea a lot of people are thinking its sawyer but im pretty stern on thinking its locke. Also I was in a lost chat room(yea im pathetic)..a lot of people are saying the oxycodone jack is trying to take is a big deal as they zoomed in on it..not sure what meaning it has. Also jack's dad is alive?

Yeah, I was thinking his dad was dead too. I'm so confused!

I admit, up until the last (or last two or whatever the heck that was) episode, I was getting bored of the show. But what a kickass finale! I've been saying Sayid is a b'dass since day one (and I don't think anyone disagrees), and when he broke that guys neck with his feet I was jumping up and down in my seat!

Sadly, the episode was a real cliffhanger. Who are the guys on the boat? Who are the original inhabitants of the island? Who is Jacob? What is the island? Who was the person in the coffin? What happened that made Jack want to go back to the island (I was thinking New World Order when I saw the last flashforward, but that's probably because I'm interested in that kind of stuff)?
If it is indeed true that we'll have to wait until January for the next episode, then that sucks.

One more thing: does anyone else get pissed of at the stupid things characters in these kinds of shows do or forget to do? If I was in the situation Charlie and Desmond was in, I would have ensured in any way possible that Mikhail was dead before leaving him out of sight.

idiots...

Ok! So I just started thinking about it and it all makes sense now!

Juliet was in the coffin!

Jack wouldn't cry over Sawyer (and Kate said she had to go back to someone so it could be James). Also, Jack and Locke never really got along so he wouldn't breakdown and try to commit suicide if Locke died. Kate is alive so the only other person that it could be in my opinion is Juliet. That's why he was so upset because they were linked for some time on the island and maybe he realized he really loved her instead of Kate. Also, that explains why Kate said "why would I go to the funeral?" when Jack asked her about it. Kate and Juliet never got along so it makes sense.

EDIT: Bahir, While it was stupid, Charlie had to die to get everyone off the island so it had to be done.

good assumption but why did nobody show up for the viewing? plus the obit that jack read from the paper says man found assuming found died

Oh it did? Damn, I thought I was on to something.

Nobody would have showed up for the viewing because everyone other than Jack (who went) hated her on the island.

That was the other stupid thing... He could have just swum out when the pressure was equalized... And they won't be getting off the island any time soon anyway.

Don't think he would have fit into that little cubhole. He can't have opened the door because of the water pressure. So, he had to die.

How the hell did Penny manage to be on the radio the moment the interference was turned off?

maybe this is a stretch, but I'm thinking that Naomi has some kind of connection with Penny's father (the one who hated Desmond....if you remember he was a very rich man and he might actually be apart of the dharma initiative (at least I always thought that he could be).

I also have a feeling that Walt has a BIG purpose to the show.....there's some funny thing about kids and that island...from Ben killing his father, to Locke, to Walt and Michael....

Also am I the only that noticed that the Richard guy (of the others) has yet to age??....looking back at Bens flashback he looks like he's the same exact age that he is now......something isn't right about that guy...

I have a new avatar in honor of LOST.

But I don't think the flashback with Ben happened very long ago. Ben looked the same as well so I don't think it was just Richard who looked similar. Now if they had shown Richard looking exactly the same when Ben was a child, then I'd be agreeing with you, but that's not the case. I think he will play a big part in the show for the next few seasons because he's one of the few remaining others but I don't know about the aging thing.

no go and watch the episode on how Ben got to the island....he ran into Richard in the forest as a little kid and Richard looked the exact same as he does today...

Yeah, I thought that was wierd. He looks almost identical except in the flashbacks he has long hair and looks more disheveled.

<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">no go and watch the episode on how Ben got to the island....he ran into Richard in the forest as a little kid and Richard looked the exact same as he does today...</div>
It seems that Richard, being a "native", is "special". So is Mikhail, because he doesn't seem to die, and Locke, who can walk again, survive a gunshot wound, etc. And because they're "special", they don't age.

I don't think Walt can be central to the story at all. The kid's growing really fast.

I think Walt is an apparition of Jacob. He probably won't be a big part of the story, I doubt he returns unless Locke finds himself in a situation similar to the one he was just in.

The finale was insanely good. It blew season 2`s finale out of the water. You guys have already stated pretty much everything I wanted to say. But wow, it was so good. My heart pounded like crazy that whole last hour of the episode.

A lot was answered, and a lot was questioned. As already stated, we`re just going to wait till next season for more answers.

Freaking February 08...
