I hope Igor is okay and it isn't some major long-term injury. Remember, there have been times in the past when it looked like he had a major injury, only for it to be something minor, he has been a bit "theatrical" with a potential injury. Assuming worst case he'll be fine for next season, I'm going to say this is a blessing in disguise. The team is terrible, and needs to SELL, maybe Igor being gone will make that even clearer than it already is to anyone even remotely paying attention.

By points % the Rangers are dead last in the whole Eastern Conference. They are the 7th worst team in the whole NHL based on points %, very close to slipping into the top 5 worst teams. The team needs to truly bottom out and look to finish as poorly as possible to maximize their draft pick.

Drury should also be on the phone now with Panarin and Zibanejad, at least, to see if they'll waiver their NMC's and be open to a trade (I have to think Panarin will be since he is a UFA after the season). He also should be looking to move UFA to be Soucy.

Enough is enough, this team is terrible and going nowhere. If we had a Pres/GM with a pulse we wouldn't be in this position, but unfortunately, we have Drury.

Unable to convert half a dozen quality scoring chances, the home team disadvantage continues.. Amazing how many times Mammoth players crashed into Igor then Quick with no worries. Every time Vakkacrap gets an opportunity to play he gets beaten for a goal, too many Mannoth players took direct lines at the goalie initiating contact and faced no consequences. If Mika doesn't want to be traded there's not much Drury can do, I can see Artemi accepting a trade to a contender. Dolan was interviewed on WFAN yesterday and expressed the utmost confidence in Drury and Sullivan and the culture change they're bringing, his words not mine.

Shesterkin being out for the season might be the best thing for this clueless organization. That way our inept GM has to sell. Dolan obviously doesn't get it with Drury. You aren't patient with guy that has had 5 drafts and the only 2 NHL players he's produced are Laba and Perreault. Who also continues to give out NMC and NTC's to non elite, young talents. We are doomed.

Lets all be honest here....watch the videos of the play...Igor fucking flopped and injured himself. The dude BARELY made contact with Igor's pad and blocker at essentially ice-level. That was it...Igor tosses himself backwards and he wrenches his knee. No contact with his head or upper body. If he holds his position he slides backwards towards the net.

Agreed, I wrote the same thing.

Yup, it's unfortunate, but Drury isn't going anywhere for a LONG LONG time. We are F'd.

Panarin, I think will accept a trade since he's a UFA this summer anyway. As for Mika, I would do anything I could to convince him to accept a trade. Even if I got only a mediocre return for him, it's worth it to remove his $8.5M from the cap and start new with that money to spend. The Rangers would have a ton of cap space if they could move Mika.

Even as is they will have a decent amount of cap space with Panarin and Soucy UFA's this summer; $11.625M and $3.25M for the two guys = $14.875M total opening up this summer.

We could have 3 or 4 1sts this year depending on what happens with Panarin and maybe even Lafreniere.

Maloney agreed with you Gravy - to Peterko's credit he stopped on a dime but I could see Igor flinching being in a vulnerable position anticipating contact

BLESSING IN DISGUISE!!! Now even a useless in over his head fool like Drury has to understand they must SELL SELL SELL. Considering where they are in the standings currently, and the injuries they have, a top 5 pick is very possible, maybe even likely. Outside of the Jets and Canucks, the Rangers could conceivably finish behind every other team in the league.

Get on the phone with Mika and Panarin NOW and see if they'll waive their NMC's, get ahead of it Drury. Since Drury is awful, I fully expect he won't call either guy ever.

SELL SELL SELL!!!

I think that's unlikely. Not sure they'll even get a 1st for Panarin, as he can control where he goes. And while maybe they can get a 1st for Lafreniere, it isn't a lock Drury will want to trade him, and even if he does it isn't a lock Drury will be able to pull off getting a 1st for Lafreniere (considering Drury's track record I'd expect a lesser return).

If you told me right now, they'd go into the lottery with the 3rd or 4th fewest number of points, I'd sign for that today.

Seems likely they'll at least be in the bottom 5 in points %. I think they almost certainly get a 1st for Panarin, even if he picks his spot. He's still a premium player. Laf maybe not, though he'd come with some term.

We'll see, if Panarin says I only want to go here, which he may or may not do, the team trading for him will hold a lot of leverage to give less than a 1st. And again, I have very little faith in Drury to be shrewd, let's not forget that. I'm also still not sold Drury will even talk to Panarin, and Zibanejad, about waving their NMC's, which means the Rangers punting on the season (which Drury may not want to do regardless).

Bottom line, I don't trust Drury to do the right things AT ALL!!
