Matts... Ischemic stroke. Left side Cartoroid (sp) artery very much blocked with operation provided. It happened July 014. I made it because my wife got me to the hospital in less than 10 minutes. I'm 62. I take Atorvastatin. I am very lucky. Emotional and depressive crap @work is hard to ignore and obviously the head honcho's don't know how to work with or grant sympathy for a stroke victim.
I volunteer for the American Stroke/Heart association. We proclaim the FAST message. Face, Arm, Speech,Time.
Wow, …. You are lucky to be alive, and I know You know this as well. When My own Father had his 1st of 3 heart attacks, in 99. Luckily he lived 3 minutes from the nearest ER. 5 Pacemaker's & a few stints later, and He's still kicking.
It's very honorable, and good Karma, to Volunteer for many causes, esp., those that inflict or effect us, and/or our loved ones.
I've noticed your an 'Inspector' by trade. I too spent many years as an Inspector, eventually moving up to Supervision, then Management. Inevitably finding in my lap: all Engineering & Quality Operations Dept's, the last 20 years of my career.
As an hourly Inspector, (in the early years of my career); a very important lesson came to me, like
a light bulb epiphany moment***, (after observing my elder work peer's; (who were: WWII Vet's) in the same field, who approached their work very humbly, with pride; feeling fortunate to be a member of the Space Shuttle Program. A Program unlike anything else I have seen, yet there were similarities on the B2 Program, and other Black Hole programs. What was it?
***I realized
a good/great Inspector can "tear a job apart," - and make the Technician feel like they were patted on the back, when in fact they were kicked in the ass.
That approach worked wonders for myself, when I was an hourly Inspector; and kept Mgmt, off my ass, and in my camp.
Have you a Union or Human Resources to turn to, for perhaps utilizing your American with Disabilities Act- (ADA). You know the Company is supposed to assist you with your disabilities, at least show an effort to accommodate your needs, even if it means moving you to an area where there is less stress.
Hero, See PM..........
