<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (HoopsWorld)</div><div class='quotemain'>Rockets Set to Deal?

According to multiple sources a "minor deal" is imminent for the Houston Rockets. The question that remains is who exactly is leaving Houston and where are they headed?

Joey Dorsey has not signed with the team yet and was not in uniform today for summer league play in Las Vegas. There are rumblings that he could be involved in the deal. In addition, word is the trade could also include either Steve Novak or Luther Head.

No definitive word yet on who the Rockets may be wheeling and dealing with, only that a deal is likely on the way.</div>

Marcus & Ager for Head & Novak? Buy Novak out.

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.........take him................he's not a "combo" guard....he can't handle the ball good enough to bring the point (he literally has no left hand), and he is hooooooooooooooooorrible at running the fast break. He can shoot the 3 pretty good, but he dissapears in the post season, and occassionally he makes bone head decisions down the stretch of ball games..............he's a SG trapped inside of a PGs body..........

Interesting. Anyone else have a scouting report on Head? Thought he was a pretty good defender.

No ability to run the fast break hurts.

Man if we can't get dooling.. then this is the guy we need... No more big men.. we need more depth in our backcourt.

Obviously you can tell a lot from a whopping 8.8 mpg.

LOL... who doesn't?

Cpaw what's your view on Luther?

Seems like he did better under Van Gubdy and went a little backwards under Adelman.

He doesn't have the ball skills (I can't believe I just typed Head doesn't have ball skills) to be successful in an Adelman's system. I see him as a short wing that is best used as a spot up shooter. He can rebound ok for his size and he some basic understanding of how to get other players the ball where they can do something with it.

He and Jack were guys I was hoping at one point the Nets would draft, and neither one has developed as I had thought they would.

I'd much rather the Nets get a pure PG than a combo guard.

lol haha me 2!!

Some interesting numbers on Head.

Over the last 27 games of the regular season (Rockets went 20-7) his stats were as follows:
mpg: 18:22
fg%: 46.1%
3pt fg%: 35.7%
ft %: 75%
rpg: 2.3
apg: 2.15
TO: 1.0
spg: .75
ppg: 7.6

He filled in as a starter in 4 of them and the Rockets were 3-1 in those.

He's 25 years old. 4 months older than Devin.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Obviously you can tell a lot from a whopping 8.8 mpg.</div>

he only got that much time, because he blew "head" everytime he stepped on the court, lol................he's not a bad backup to have off the bench, but he's definitely not someone that I would want to depend on night in and night out. The main thing with Luther is that he lacks confidence at times. I brought up his fastbreak weakness earlier mainly, because I've seen him have 3 on 2 fast breaks where he's the primary ball handler down the middle of the floor. He'll get close to the basket and because of his lack of confidence he'll dribble the ball backout to set up in the halfcourt, which totally kills the momentum. I cringe everytime he's dribbling the ball on the fastbreak. His lack of ability to create off the dribble is another reason why Tmac does so much of the ball handling in our offense....

you will regret all the bad rap you are giving Head. Once you have no shooter when you trade him and T-mac. I'm a Nets fan and i've been preying every year the Nets will find a shooter off their bench. The Nets have not found one shooter in years.

thats true, but you can certainly tell a lot from 7.1% FG% as a shooter...

It was one series and he got off only a couple shots a game. So no you can't tell a lot.

brent barry = shooter, Greene = shooter, Battier = shooter......this isn't including bobby jackson (who might not be here) or Rafer (who played extremely well last year), Novak, etc.........There were stretches in the season last year when we didn't even use Luther that much........you're overstating his value.........

wow you're already calling Donte Greene a shooter when h shot 41% from the feild in college last year?

Head is so much better than Greene.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Head is so much better than Greene.</div>

I really don't think you've watched Luther Head all that closely.....I'm not saying Greene will be an all star talent, but if I were a betting man I'd say he can be better than Luther Head...........................the point I was trying to make is that the rockets will not miss him at all......

did i hear someone say Head better than Greene“ tell me you are kidding or you haven't seen head play at all..... at least in RA's system..

the guy sucks at his position and he is a midget... seems like he lost all his hops the past a couple season..

if you compare Greene and Head first of all, Greene is 6'9" and average 17pts 7bds as a freshman and just has a 40 pts first game... i doubt Head will ever get a 40 even in summer league...

however, who knows how he will turn out in the Nets system...

Head's career high is 30 against G.S. 4/4/2007. Season high is 24 against Washington 1/8/2008.

That was in NBA games... not summer league.

i know the stats don't look bad at all.. but he did them when both Yao and Tmac were out and seriously if you watch him closely he don't have much varieties... he got a bit of hop and speed... but again he is 6'3 and can't pass besides running the pick and roll... that's why Rockets bench him and limited his PT.. i don't mind the dude at all but if he ain't good then he ain't good.
