Cop hunt after letter claims

MADELEINE McCann's parents faced fresh agony last night as police probed claims she lies buried nine miles from where she was abducted.

A Dutch newspaper was sent an anonymous letter and a map bearing a cross and the words: "Where Madeleine is buried."

The letter says the four-year-old's body is hidden in scrubland under rocks.

De Telegraaf passed it on to Portuguese police.

The paper got a similar tip-off about two missing Belgian girls last year. Their bodies were found a day later.

A man who saw the note said: "Police in Holland are taking it very seriously as it looks like the same sender."</div>

Imagine if she isn't there. No closure like HC said but also got to go through that slight glimpse of hope.

They haven't found anything yet.

They received an anonymous letter and are investigating but haven;t found her body yet.

Its ridiculous that the Dutch Press disclosed this BEFORE they passed the letter on to the Police.
