Mr. D'Alessandro: I live in PA, and so don't get to watch the Nets very often. You referenced Sean Williams' inability to learn the four spot. If you have a moment, could you mention the specific difficulties he is having? Steve: The hardest thing he'll have to learn pertains to their motion stuff, the sets they call "basic," which they've been running about 20 percent of the time lately -- very different responsibilities between the four and five men. With the other sets, the 4/5 are often interchangeable. He's a kid, and you can't force-feed him two positions when he's still learning what time the bus leaves for shootaround. There are guys can run any play from all five positions (Vince is one of them; and that's what made Uncle Cliffy so good), but that takes a long time to pick up. You want to be able to run all your stuff regardless of your lineup, and it only takes back-to-back mistakes to send a team sideways. But he'll learn it eventually.</div></p>

It's tough to be patient when everyone is in your face telling you how to do your job when they are basically clueless. Frank is a true professional who tries to put his players in the best position to succeed. (I can't unbold this. Bring on the NEW S2!)

Yeah, I noticed that Ghoti. Made me bite my tongue.</p>

I was surprised to see Cliffy mentioned there. Hopefully another intelligent Husky can replicate his effectiveness in the offense. In fact, that's probably the reason why he's seeing more playing time now. I'd be ecstatic if he could fit in at Collins' role in the offense--which is likely--and actually do more.</p>

And I liked the explanation of why Mutombo didn't play with Byron: He sucks in the motion offense, and to put him in the game would be to take away from Kidd's strengths. IMO Byron wasn't as bad of a coach as people thought.</p>

(Oh yeah, and about the boldness--it's in the Source code, with the tags. This text editor is a hassle. I can't wait for the new S2 either, it might actually exclusively use html source codes--exciting!)</p>
