While Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server elicited cries of "lock her up" during Donald Trump's campaign rallies, a majority of the president's supporters say he should be able to use one of his own.

A recent survey by Public Policy Polling has discovered that 42 percent of Trump supporters say the president should be allowed the use of a private email server while 39 percent say he should not.

I blame the sun for global warming. Sure, we might cause the greenhouse effect that traps the heat with all our carbon emissions - but there would be no heat to begin with if the sun was not so pervasive.

42% isn't a majority. 50% + 1 is.

Tell me more about these alternate facts?

The poll is by PPP(D).

The D in parentheses means what you think it does.

Majority. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. ... "Majority" can be used to specify the voting requirement, as in a "majority vote". A majority vote is more than half of the votes cast. A majority can be compared to a plurality, which is a subset larger than any other subset considered.

Oh Lord! Let us not go there.

But where does Twitter fall in the grand scheme of things regarding the Government server or not?

I think it was bullshit when Bush and Chaney used the RNC server for email, I think it was bullshit when Hillary used a private server and I think it will be bullshit if the Trump administration does it. I don't need twitter to tell me how I feel about it.

err, I think I agreed with you!
But I bet there is no government server for Twitter. So what happens here?

Doesn't matter at all.

If Trump or any of his administration want to use private email, it doesn't matter, either. As long as it isn't used for government business, particularly the transmission of classified information to persons without clearance.

The president is a special case. Clinton demanded to use her blackberry or iPhone, the government refused. Obama wanted the same and they spent whatever it took to get him a blessed blackberry. Plus if the president can't declassify information, it's a scary government we'd have.

Bush/Cheney HAD to use private servers for campaign purposes, as does the RNC. It's the law. Government resources not to be used for campaigning.

That they mixed government business and campaign use is their violation of the same laws Clinton was. However, the Bush/Cheney folks were aware of the presidential records act and intended (but failed) to preserve all the required emails. Nobody exclusively used the RNC server for government business. They got in a world of shit over it. Democrats prosecuted it as far as they could.

Clinton had 20-20 hindsight about this and chose to violate the law much beyond what republicans did. They had no intention of obeying the presidential records act until years later when the Benghazi committee subpoenaed all emails regarding Benghazi and the administration then asked her to cough up the records. She did 100% of government business on private email. None of it to avoid campaign law violations.
