Politics Make another section for Politics?

I don't come to the OT section very often, I'm mostly interested in the Blazers and also don't live in Portland or the US so it's not as interesting for me. But when I do visit here I feel this forum has become mostly about Politics and it's depressing to me. I liked it better when you discussed movies, TV shows, Music. Still would rarely comment but it was a happier place.
Now I know I'm an outsider, I don't even get to vote in your elections, but I wanted to make this suggestion that I actually made to Sly a while ago: why not open another section for Politics, get it all in one place and allow the OT forum to get back to how it used to be?
I'm not against talking Politics, I do it quite a lot and it's interesting and important but it's become the main topic in this forum so much that I think it deserves it's own forum.
What say you?

I don't see the point. Politics is what people want to talk about right now.

It will die down after awhile, when the dissidents have been relocated to the reeducation camps.

I'm fine with creating a 2nd OT board where people with no opinions or actual thought process can hide from the Real World. Their inane and vacuous chatter and kitty videos are a lot to sift through when you want to have an enlightening discussion among adults, especially since they refuse to participate other than to hurl personal insults and hide behind the ignore button.

As for this OT board, one perusal of the thread titles demonstrates it embraces the values it always has and provides for posting any and all topics that aren't directly Blazers-related.

Lets try this:

I have gone and edited the thread tags in many of the posts in the OT section. I'm just using two tags, POLITICS and OT. If you click on the POLITICS thread tag you will only see threads with the same tag. If you click on the OT thread tag you will only see threads with the OT tag.

If you don't want to see political posts then click on the OT tag at the front of a threat title.

This is just an experiment.

I do ask that if you make a new thread in the OT section you either use the POLITICS or OT thread tag in your title.
 
The forum can be made to require thread prefixes.
