This week’s Asian Tour Panasonic Open at the Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi is being played a day earlier than is normally the case and having now reached the halfway stage it is Singaporean Mardan Mamat who has broken clear. The 43 year old leads by four over American Ben Fox and India’s Anirban Lahiri.
A two time winner on the Asian Tour including the 2006 Singapore Masters in his home country, Mamat has not won since but has continued to play well and against what is a weaker field in this event looks well placed to continue his great start.
Californian Ben Fox, playing his second season on the Asian Tour, played well on this golf course last year with two good finishes and again earlier this season at the Sail Open over the Delhi Golf Club layout, highlighting his liking for the venue.
