QUINTON, Va. - A Virginia man lost about 80 pounds in six months by eating nearly every meal at McDonald's. Not Big Macs, french fries and chocolate shakes. Mostly salads, wraps and apple dippers without the caramel sauce.

Chris Coleson tipped the scales at 278 pounds in December. The 5-foot-8 Coleson now weighs 199 pounds and his waist size has dropped from 50 to 36.

The 42-year-old businessman from Quinton says he chose McDonald's because it's convenient.

His inspiration came from his two children and from the story of a blind war veteran who rode a tandem bicycle cross-country.

Coleson says his goal is to get back to the 185 pounds he weighed when he married Tricia Summer. Their 10th anniversary is Saturday.

I have the unhealthiest diet on the planet and I am skinny. In an average day, I consume two donuts for breakfast, and two meals from fast food joints for lunch and dinner. And by meals, I mean a value meal plus two other items off the dollar menu. I have had this exact diet for at least 5 years now and I am just about as healthy as one can get right now. I did recently start to get a little bit of a gut, so I have cut down to one fast food meal a day like 2 weeks ago. I already lost about 10 lbs and my gut is starting to disappear.
 
^^^ That will change, my friend. I used to be 135 lbs and could eat all I want (and did). A couple of times my metabolism changed and I gained weight by about 20 lbs each time, as I got older.

I know, and that is going to suck. When did your metabolism start changing?
 
3 times, at least, since I turned 30. It's gotten to the point where I have to really watch what I eat or I end up 30 lbs overweight without trying hard
 
I used to be chubby when I was in middle school, so I thankfully know what kind of things to eat/consume.

I barely touch Soda, not even the Diet stuff. It's mostly just ice water for me.

I'm skinny and have always been skinny. How? By avoiding that garbage.
 
About fast food, I eat there maybe once every two or three weeks, whenever I'm at work, and get hungry because I didn't eat earlier, or something like that. I also stay away from sodas. Just water and beer for me.

Haven't had fast food in over a year and a half and it shows. I think I'm actually a little too under-weight right now.

I do drink some soda, but I've been trying to replace it with Iced Tea and Water over the past month or so. And always milk or OJ in the morning.

I'm in the same boat as you. But then again, being skinny makes is really hard to gain muscle, (although I don't have any trouble getting that sweet sixpack). I'm pumping this for all it's worth, though.
 
**** watching what you eat. Just hit the weights every day and you'll be golden.
 
Yeah, I've only had fastfood twice (first time a value meal loaded steakhouse burger, then second time just the loaded steakhouse burger). I've lost about 7 pounds since school ended, despite eating a ton of cake an drinking regular soda at all the grad parties.

I ate fastfood pretty much everyday during the school year, and would run like 3+ miles a day just to break even. That shit is bad for you.

I would rank them, in terms of worst for you, to best for you:

1. Taco Bell
2. Burger King
3. Hardees
4. Subway/Cousins
5. Wendy's
6. Arby's
7. McDonalds

Idk, but McDonalds doesn't seem to really calorie pack their food (except the Deluxe Breakfast), and they don't exactly give you big portions. If you just eat McDonalds, and avoid the regular soda and juice, you'll be pretty good eating there. T-Bell, BK, Hardees, and the Sub places are the big killers imo.

I haven't actually had any McDonalds food (just milkshakes) since Monopoly ended in November. They're all killers, but McDonalds is the least of the culprits.

How is McDonalds any less of a killer, if it is a killer. haha there aren't many levels to death here...
