<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I can't walk. I'm can't leave my bed," the 40-year-old Uribe, who weighs the same as five baby elephants, said in a recent telephone interview.</div>Haha that's so decieving, but funnyThe guy's disgusting, he let himself get that way so I don't feel sorry for him. Even if they don't know what the problem is, it says he was almost 300 lbs at 22, so clearly that was his fault.

Fat is wack, live by that notion Tony, this article should be your bible.

No, obviously being lazy isn't a disease, but in general im talking about obese people. Obesity can be inherited - you are more likey to become obese if you have it in your genes. Those people who have this disease don't have the same metabolism as you - not even close - so part of it isn't their fault, and part of it is.

That's true in some cases and he definitely has a genetic predisposition to obesity, but regardless he could have done a better job of keeping it under control.

That's probably true, but I don't think it would've helped much even if he tried . Food to obese people is like drugs - they eat even if they arent hungry.

It's not a disease, it's a lack of maturity and self control.

Often times it does have to do with psychological issues, maybe the parent's lack of discipline or stress, so they eat food to comfort themselves.

O My God.Im disgusted for life, and i'll have nightmares all week.

Thats just disgusting. I wouldn't let my self get like that. Why wouldn't you get help a long time ago, it said his wife left him a decade ago because of the rapid weight gain. Wouldn't you think you would try to get help then if your wife left you because of it.

By then it was probably too out of control, he should have dealt with it when he was 300 lbs.

I would think when he was like 600 pounds he might wanna get some treatment..guess not, now hes doubled that and he'll prob. die.

I wonder how much he eats, they didn't say. I know the previous heaviest man alive ate ridiculous amounts.

no one has mentioned that his boobs are huge!!!! and how do you get that dang fat anyway?

There are 3 kids at my school that are pretty big, two are boys and one is a girl with chin hair. They all three look exactly alike, which is pretty sad. I kinda feel sorry for them, but it is their fault they are that way. I am pretty sure they don't have any disorders or problems, it is their fault.I would feel sorry for them if it was a disease, but I am pretty sure it isn't.

Yeah, but many times it's a psychological disorder pertaining to perhaps their family life, so in that way it might not be their fault. It's often a direct result of parenting. (or lack thereof)

You ever seen the movie the BLOB... welll that basically says it all. Also kinda funny cause if he gets mad he will turn red. That's the white effect for ya.grrrrr...

I would say its half his fault because he didnt try to get help.

Obesity can be blamed on many things - I've seen a show where theres this 5 year old who already weighed 400 lbs. A lot of it was her mom's fault because she felt bad not giving her daughter food, and alot of it was obviously a disease. There are probably different types of this disease, either it can be combined with genetics or something else. For example, it could be an internal problem where the person is just severly depressed, or some kind of pathalogical disorder; althought I doubt this person in the article is the pathalogical type - it looks more of a genetic thing.

That is sick. If anyone has ever seen Nip Tuck, there was an episode of a lady like that, but worse. She stayed on her couch for three years straight, and never made a trip to the bathroom, just did it right there. Hopefully this guy makes it out ok but how the hell do you get that big?
