Charles Manson was still hanging on to life Thursday from a bed at a Bakersfield hospital.
“Charles Manson is alive,” Krissi Khokhobashvili, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, confirmed, declining to comment on the killer’s health and hospitalization because of state and medical privacy laws.
The 83-year-old Manson was rushed from his cell at the Corcoran State Prison to a Bakersfield hospital earlier this week.
“It’s not going to get any better for him,” a source told TMZ. “It’s just a matter of time (until he finally dies).”
Manson is serving life without parole for leading his murderous “family” in slaying seven people during a two-night murder spree in 1969 Los Angeles.
Relatives of two Manson “family” victims declined to comment on his hospitalization Thursday, with one saying their comments were reserved for parole hearings.
Leslie Van Houten, the youngest Manson follower, now 68, was approved for parole in September and is awaiting Gov. Jerry Brown’s consent. He blocked her release last year.
