She is at anchor just off shore from town waiting to go into the Boat Festival a week ahead of schedule.
Oh well, I guess we will explore the Mystery Bay Marine park on Marrowstone Island for a couple days.

That's beautiful! Great life you lead my friend! So the MarAzul is all refinished and ship shape again?

My son is out there somewhere salmon fishing today on his friend's boat...great day for it..perfect weather!

Yes, she is looking pretty good. We were in port last night, couldn't even get down town for dinner until after dark.
Spent maybe two hours talking to people, answering question.
My dream was to have a schooner and live on it...then I married a lady with extreme motion sickness....now that the boy has grown up, he'll end up getting the boat ....chip off the old block

It was great weather on the run up here, made it a full day faster than I had projected. Having the wind to your back when heading north doesn't happen often on this coast, unless it's a storm.

Hey! Perhaps you can explain the proper gender of ships to Sly.

I understand referring to ships as female. I was just teasing you.

You = Marazul

Ship = Marazul

Ship = Female

You = Female

Dogs only dunk for ducks in the water...they don't understand that all ships are goddesses such as Athena...but they are just not ever welcome on board in the flesh......read your Patrick O'Brien Sly!....get a library card!

Tied up to a buoy in Mystery Bay State Park now. Geez it is pretty here, and it feels like I have taken MarAzul to Lake Odell
or something.

Can't post a picture, not enough connectivity.

MarAzul as the guest of the Makah people at the Tribal Marina in Neah Bay

Many visitors came to admire the yacht at the boat Festival in Port Townsend. One lady even pronounced her the most beautiful she had ever seen. I could find no retort, just a Thank You.
MarAzul is back in Bandon now after a non stop run from Neah Bay down the coast of Washington and Oregon. She will be in Bandon under going some modifications and improvements after shake down cruise number three.

I'm waiting for a 3 D printer to whip up a schooner for me ..after my jetpack..great looking yacht Marz...well done! Hell of a legacy!

MarAzul and the Ancient Mariner will be putting to sea again, probably next month. The list of modification is nearly complete and it will be time for another shake down cruise to see
if she is right.

We were planning on going to San Francisco Bay and the Delta, but since we have made significant changes to the sail rig, I think it is best to make a cruise up hill (beat to weather) before
we get too far down hill and find we have trouble going to weather. So, we will make a run up to the Columbia, perhaps Portland too, to check her out. Probably Lake Washington and then
the outer sounds on Vancouver Island. Perhaps a little fishing.

The Bay area and SoCal Late summer and fall. But it all depends on how MarAzul is working. It is possible that it's back to Bandon to work down the to do list.

...are you still sailing around the world in this thing or what?! :dunno:

:dunno:

I was told by some cruisers last year, that they thought I was the oldest singlehanded sailor sailing the West Coast. They said they had checked with the Singlehanded Society and a few yacht clubs, so as far as I know, they maybe correct. If I sail the MarAzul ("this thing") around the world single handed, I would be the oldest to do it. Not all that sure I need the honor though. It is pretty much a hoot just doing what I want to do.

You should head over to Port Townsend Creamery. They make some legit local cheese. Off Kilter and Sea Stack are great domestic soft ripened cheeses.

Sounds great! But... I am not there right now, that was last year just about this time. I am still in Bandon, hoping to get out for a short shake down up into the Columbia before heading for the Delta and So Cal. Got a screw around some with a appointment at the VA Roseburg the 28th and 29th before I get too far away.

Didn't realize it was a zombie thread. I'm tempted to ask you to share a beer in Roseburg. That's where I'm staying for the time being.

Well try me! I have go there one day, go home, wear this monitor one night, then take it back the next day. One at 5.00 or so seem entirely in order.
