Marion 'Suge' Knight charged with murder, attempted murder

Former rap music mogul Marion "Suge" Knight has been charged with murder and attempted murder after he allegedly ran over two people, killing one, following an argument in Compton last week, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney.

The official charges come hours after Knight's $2.2-million bail was revoked.

Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida told The Times that Knight's bail was pulled for the following reasons: “Possible flight risk, three-strike candidate, possible witness intimidation issues and his criminal past.”

Knight, 49, allegedly ran over Terry Carter and Cle "Bone" Sloan with his truck.

Carter was killed.

Marion “Suge” Knight was taken to a local hospital Tuesday shortly after he pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run.

Knight, 49, was arraigned in a high security court room where the judge assigned to the case recused himself, stating as a lawyer, he represented one of the victims, KNX1070’s Margaret Carrero reports.

The co-founder of Death Row Records was then rushed by ambulance to a hospital after experiencing chest pains, the LA County Sheriff’s Department said. His condition was unknown.

Former rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight told a judge that he is nearly blind and suffering from other health complications moments before he was taken to a hospital Monday morning.
It was his third trip to the hospital from a courthouse since he was charged with murder in early February.

Knight also told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Brandlin that he had fired attorneys handling his murder case and was receiving inadequate medical treatment while in custody.

The Death Row Records co-founder said he was blind in one eye and had only about 15% vision in his other eye during a brief court appearance on Monday.
