No I hear you Rob, as others here will attest to that stupid tilted had look drives me up the wall. Not only do I not get the significance of it but I just don't get why the manager doesn't correct the damn thing. I mean can you imagine if the boss were still around? He'd probably fine any player who didn't know how to wear a hat. Really, I wish someone ANYONE could explain what that damn idiotic look means. Any thugs out there? drop me a post. IGHT!, Ba-leed dat! Yo-Yo-Yo. wus-sup?
You know what blows my mind Rick....is you see these kids today, in public wearing a brand new 45$ New Era (fitted) MLB hat, not only more than tilted off to one side or the other. They keep the "bling" price tags on, Manufacturing labels, even the damn stickers on the brims...what's with that. Is it: they can't afford the gold bling rings & jewelry, so they keep the hat bling on the dang things. Think its a cool statement, (more of a look at me, I'm a fool and don't know it).
To each his own, yet, this fashion-less statement is ridiculous. Bozo dressed better.
Makes me wonder, IF it were acceptable to MLB rules, how many young MLB Pitchers would go out n the field, with all the price tags, mfg. tags, et al, still attached to their damn hats....
Yet, my grievances aren't limited to only proper attire on the ball field. As much its all about crappy attitudes, not be-fitting of a professional. Too many Pro's are passing very bad habits on to the kids of today, who are not just mere spectators....! Obviously some Pro's have forgotten WHO their audience is, WHO it is emulating them, and imitating their heroes.
If these players of today tried that crap in our younger era, there would be some players sitting on benches instead of taking the field. The fisticuffs, the berating of Umps, (I know there are a few instances where a player just can't help themselves, to argue with Umps, that's a given). These days, tho' I see it almost as common to argue a called 3rd strike, (while the batter keeps his bat on his shoulder watching the strike go by). Close pitch or not, what happened to the fundamental of "you have to protect the plate with 2 strikes on you, if its even close"?. I saw that yesterday in a game, and thought what the hell is this player teaching his fans? It's ok to berate an ump, cuz your to lazy to swing at a strike, when the player is to blame, for not protecting the plate. As much it teaches kids, no self-discipline, or control, and a lack of respect and ethics. It teaches kids, someone else is always at fault, for their own shortcomings. Always berate or argue, if your at fault. Never accept responsibility for one's own actions or lack of them.
