Marquette Players Rock!!!

Nice! Speaking of Marquette players, Wes Mathews gave Wade a run for his money last night. Without the superstar treatment, it could have even been close.

Steve Novak is a Spur and Lazar Hayward is a TimberWolf. Doc Rivers is a coach and Maurice Lucas is a former one.

I was referring to the match-up last night between Marquette alumni. D.Wade obviously won the battle, but Wes gave him hell. Sucks when the refs decided that touching a superstar is a foul. Mathews did win the war though with yet another late game dagger.

It wasn't just superstar treatment.....

I could understand if Wade went like 5-13 with a ton of FTs, but he made 12 of 21 FG attempts.

Of course he also played like one. I'm just super impressed with a second year player Wes, playing all-NBA caliber defense on one of the best guards ever. Wade had to Work to get all those points, not one easy basket.

I saw some easy baskets by Wade. Run back the tape.

....and Travis Diener is an MVP in a league in Turkmenistan.

It's amazing the affect superstar treatment has on the ability to play defense. :devilwink:

Wade demolished Matthews, Roy, and whoever else tried to defend him. Same with James and Batum, Wallace, and whoever else tried to defend him.

LMA flat-out embarrassed Chris Bosh. That was the difference in the game, IMO, as well as Miller outplayed Chalmers and the Heatle PGs, and Roy and Wallace were just way better than the Heatle bench.

Praising Matthews for giving up 38 points on 21 FGA seems a bit homer-istic, IMO.

What? No.......

The announcers during the game mentioned that the Blazers started it. Georgetown players where throwing up the goggles also.

Watched the Comcast replay again late last night. Trust Me, Wes gave him hell. So much so that he stormed off the court at half time with his head down.

Listen I know Wade demolished the Blazers, but part of it was because we frustrated him with how well we were playing against him. He may have been highly successful scoring points, but he wasn't successful in winning: getting his teammates involved. You could see the tension between him and LBJ with MB at one point commenting on it by saying "Wade looks at Lebron for approval for taking that three."

I couldn't agree more, IMO, D.Wade was too busy putting his head down to score to actually help his teammates help him get the win.

Muhaha, check this out: [Edit: Not really safe for work just due to advertisements on side]

credit to scooterhd @ espn boards for finding it, I just thought it was so awesome as to share more. So in fact, Matthews didn't start the craze haha.

Did Wes even start it on this team? I thought Patty thought of it while seeing Rudy repeatedly squinting on three pt shots.

Oh. yeah. You're right. I guess I meant Blazers weren't the first.

Somehow, I don't think Patty and the rest of the Blazers were around for the November 1960 edition of Playboy magazine. I'm pretty sure they thought of it on their own, LOL. Besides, I'm pretty sure she isn't signifying a three point basket. :)

Oh lol, I know. Was light hearted sarcasm.
