<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NYPost.com:</div><div class="quote_post">"It was time to go in a different direction; it's that simple," Albert last night told The Post from Los Angeles, home of the Lakers and from where, he said, he's vacationing. </div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NYPost.com:</div><div class="quote_post">Albert also was attacked by Francesa and co-host Chris Russo for trying to grab a job already held, by Ian Eagle, but they didn't make it clear whether YES or Albert initiated the discussion. A source last night said that with Albert's contract nearing expiration, his agent had, in fact, "reached out" to YES.</div>

i don't know if everyone has heard, but MSG and Marv Albert are no longer a couple. they wanted him to take a paycut and Marv declined and parted ways. i first heard this on Mike and the Maddog yesterday and they basically talked about this all day today. they were complaining that marv is trying to take ian eagles job as tv announcer for YES network for Nets basketball games.

so the question is who would you rather have as Nets announcer? -Marv -Ian ?

i personally want Ian to stay. he is 30something yrs old and Marv is in his 60s. Marv is a Knicks guy adn will always be a Knicks guy and he has other jobs liek his TNT broadcast and he does radio for Monday Night Football. i see NO reason to take away Ian's job. he does a great job and i personally think he is one of the best announcers in the nba. he is our guy and is great at it. he was great with bill raftery and is great with kelly tripuka. ian will be here longer than marv would be here. if marv comes here, we might as well bring back patrick ewing out of retirement and play him at center. it just isnt right. marv is a knicks announcer and will always be remembered as that. he has enough jobs and there is no need for him. Ian is good enough to be an abc/tnt/espn broadcaster IMO. i hope we keep Ian, he's OUR guy!
