This Amazon show has put the nail in identity politics for me.

I watched the first season and thought it was ok. Read a bunch of reviews and many were about feminism and white privilege and I just got a bit queasy and forgot about it.

Season 2 came out not too long ago and I wasn't even sure if I should watch. Google some reviews and more identity politics. Yuk.

Well, we watched it and it was amazing. After 6 or 7 episodes it finally hit me that despite my white skin I have NOTHING in common with any character.

Nothing in my life was remotely similar to the people in the show.

Not a single thing. Watching rich Jewish families spend two months in the Catskills was like watching Avatar. Unreal to me.

I saw Green Book the other night.

Excellent movie.

I remember that movie now. Looked great. Will see in 5 or 6 mos on bluray.

Easy answer - don't read reviews.

I think the show is excellent. I love the writing and the actors are top notch.

Yup. But Tony Shalhoub really is excellent.

I can't believe Midge is the same chick that was the prostitute from House of Cards.
spoiler....
His frigging romper outfit. It wasn't as bad as I expected.

Want some tomato juice? GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!!!

I hope people are watching this.

Well you might not feel any better being in the Catskills with them either.
It's catsgills or something like that isn't it? The only word that popped up was Catskills until just now. Catsgills?

Maybe Trump's unprotected Iphone he tweets from is hacked!!

One of my favorite comedians when he was in Wings.

It is a fantastic show, for sure. The writing is very sharp there.

The 2 months summer vacation thing tho - that's a world that does not exist anymore for anyone but the super rich (I guess they are super rich for the era as well, but I doubt a family of a college professor can easily handle this every year nowadays if they are not already rich).

I think they've done away with the old custom of sabbaticals. Too bad for college professors.

I thought he was very good in The Siege with Denzel Washington. A very well done movie about terrorism before 9/11 happened.

No, you nailed it. Catskills it is. It is actually quite a nice region to visit. I spent quite a bit of time in Kingston and Binghamton NY. A Sunday afternoon trip into the villages in the Catskills for a dinner in their local community eating establishments is very nice experience.
