Beard badly beaten and in hospital.
EUGENE, Ore. -- A freshman kicker for the Oregon Ducks is in Riverbend Hospital after he was injured in a brawl on Saturday night in the West University neighborhood. Eugene Police confirm Rob Beard was kicked in the head during a fight. Officers tell KEZI 9 News a fight broke out in the area of 17th and Patterson with anywhere from 20 to 40 people involved.



EPD says it started out with name-calling involving a friend of Beard's, 18-year-old Michael Bowlin, and quickly escalated into a full-on brawl. Beard jumped in to help Bollin and was knocked to the ground. Police say he was kicked in the head multiple times and lost consciousness. Officers found him minutes later, unconscious in the rear seat of a nearby car.



Beard has multiple facial injuries, including fractures under his eyes, a nose fracture and brain contusions, but his mother tells KEZI 9 News he is stable, alert and communicating well.

He was expelled from my high school for some type of illegal activity. If memory serves it was a big brawl with a lot of football players involved. Could have been something else though. At the time I was like a freshman so I had no idea who he was and even if I knew his name, who knew he would turn out to be a college football star? Details were mostly kept under wraps but I hear that his dad moved him to Hawaii right after which is where he was for the rest of HS (and maybe JC? not sure...) until he got into Oregon.

Hm. Not sure where that guy got his info from but what you said doesn't sound anything like a robbery lol..good info tho..

I hope this isn't true..it seems like he put the past behind him, and he mightve slipped up. Of course you never really know them(athletes) like you think you do..nobody thought Marvin Harrison would shoot anyone lol

It wasn't a robbery to my knowledge just passing along what I heard about him locally. Just saying, dude's not a saint and it apparently isn't the only questionable activity hes been involved in.
 
There have been a lot of rumors swirling in the past 24 hours regarding a reported theft at a fraternity house on UO's campus. The latest verifiable news is that while both Jeremiah Masoli and Garrett Embry were mentioned in the police report, neither are considered suspects at this time, according to the EPD (info at end of video). During the same broadcast, they also reported that police were looking to interview Masoli and Embry. The Register-Guard also has a report on the incident, and they are refusing to even name the two players. Their report mentions that there are "persons of interest" that police have not yet been able to reach, but they have not been named by the authorities, as this incident is still under investigation. it's hard to imagine how someone who has as much going for them as JM would do what he's accused of in the internet rumors. Then again, there are reasons for the term dumb jock. Regardless of my rooting interests in a game (UO), I always hope the police bring those person(s) responsible for a crime to justice.

Matt Barkley would have the things given to him, in his house that is provided ;) jk.. but yeah good point on the playing time, I could see Chip doing something like that too lol.
 
Oh come on, the University will only provide plush furnished apartments, not houses. And a car in the parking space. Get it right. The houses are for family.
