Anyone else agree. I woke up this morning, tried to do my homework, and couldn't get crap. Am I the only one that naturally sucks at math? I can't believe it. This whole year I haven't been able to get anything that I am learning, and it seems like always I have to go in after school for extra tutoring.

Oh, and I'm Asian, so technically I'm supposed to be good at math.......

Preach it, bro.

I hate math too. You get homework every single day, as well on Fridays. but i get it though. Itd kinda hard. What math are you taking? I am taking Geometry as a freshmen in high school.

I SUCK at math. I have algebra, and I barely understand that ****. I get A's in homework because my teacher doesn't correct homework. But I almost always fail the quizzes and tests. Brian, I have never seen an asian suck at math, my teacher is asian.

Geometry? I thought you said you suck at math?

You got a supporter here. Ever since Grade 12 (when I last took a math course), my math skills have steadily decreased. I remember this summer when I was applying for a factory job. On the application they had a small section for basic mathematical skills that was supposed to take 5 mins. Took like 15-20 for me. I hate the 12 times table.

I find the 12 times tables so easy, I don't know why.

^ Me too they are real easy

Neh I am sorta smart, but I suck at math, and dont get sometimes stuff.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Carter:</div><div class="quote_post"> Brian, I have never seen an asian suck at math, my teacher is asian.</div>
95% of the asians are smart. This dude, he is asian, he sits right by me, on tests, he asks me for the answer, He is like the 2nd dumb asian i know.

I know lots of dumb asians. Trust me, stupidity doesn't follow race.

Yep I've also been noticing that I seemed to have peaked my math skills at around freshman year in high school and I've actually gotten dumber and forgotten most of the stuff that I learned up to that point. I'm even worse when I've got to use math for science and I'm taking chemistry so I'm basically screwed this year (the teacher seriously asked me in front of the class if I belonged there twice and both times I told him no but I guess he just thought I was being a smartass...that guy is a dick).

I'm a f***ing ace at English, history, geography, etc. though.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you don't do too well at english either.

From my experience, it's the individuals who teach math that make it harder than it should be. Most math professors our out of touch with reality and don't have the creative ideas to make math interesting.

I'm sure if your math teacher's told you to keep the stats of a boxscore and apply the data into various formulas you'd have a lot more interest.

I used to be good at math until I took the advanced courses at the university level, which quickly put me in my place. Oh and I'm asian too btw.

In regard to asians being good at math, in general, yes asians are better than the other races but there's still a lot who are just as clueless as everyone else. In fact, of all my asian friends, I'm the only one who's actually decent at it (although, we're all filipino, so I don't know if we'd be considered one of those "mathematically smart asians")

I hate it. The course I am taking right now (which will be my last) is really hard, but I hope I will get a passing grade. The course is almost all about derivatives, and I'm having a bit of trouble trying to grasp the concept.

Ouch. Calculus.

The one thing I hated about high school math was that every year depended so heavily upon the previous. So all it took was one crappy teacher, like shape described, to really throw you off for the next one.

The highest math I completed in school was Algebra, and it took me two times. So there you go, math sucks.

I'm studying Engineering, so I'm good at maths, but I still find it challenging.

Yea I pretty much suck at Math too. I guess I hate it because I don't do as well, comparing to History. Of course a few times I ended up with brain dead math teacher that really didn't help the cause either.

In conclusion, SCREW MATH!

If you play a lot of first person shooters with pistols that have a 12 bullet magazines, it gets fairly easy to remember.

By the way, I'm pretty decent at math, but I'm starting to find that I'm not as smart as I used to be.

Ehh I hate Math now. I used to think it was ok but studying it as an A-Level is pointless. I hate differentiation of functions and integration of trigonometric functions. It's real pointless.

Wait till you get to college math, i always sucked at math and now its like ten times worse. the teachers dont care whether you pass or fail.

Yeah, I've never done well in math. Basketball-related math like calculating percentages, subtraction, addition, and things like that I have no problems with, but algebra, trigonometry, even geometry I struggle with.

I've always been solid with the reading/writing skills though.

i thought i was real smart in math, then i took honors geometry my sophmore year where i was just about to fail and i asked my guidance councler to change it and she agreed, even in a regular math class i wasn't doing as well as i usually do, this year i took algebra 2 and i got a 70 on my first test, but i was one of 3 kids to pass lol

I got a 100 on my math taks test last year, and this year, I am sucking at math pretty bad.

I actually averaged 98% last year in AP Mathematics & Calculus...and i'm black (since people in this thread are associating race with mathematical skills). I guess i'm one of the lucky ones.

I'm in Geometry right now and I hate it too. We have a cool teacher though that is like 23. She knows math can be boring and tries to make it more fun for us. I still hate the loads of homework and it just gets so boring. Luckily though, when my teacher starts to see that we are getting bored or stressed she lets us take a break and she starts talking to us about football or something.

^^^ What grade are you in? 9th grade right?

I hate trigonometric proofs! I want to study Economics at university and I have to do well in A-Level Math to get into the university I want to go to.

Try to prove Sin(x + 30?) + (√3)cos(x + 30?) ≡ 2cosx
