...he and his entire staff have been let go.

Letting Papelbon on the mound after he choked out Harper put a nice red bow on his incompetent handling of that ball club.
Zimmerman has been bad because he can't stay healthy and the Werth contract was just ridiculous.
...I was talking about Jordan Zimmerman, the pitcher...he's a FA next year. They probably could/should have locked him up before signing Scherzer.
...yeah, he may have been teetering on getting fired before but that really sealed his fate, IMO.
...the GM shouldn't get a pass either...his contractual moves are almost as mind boggling as Cashman's...other than Harper they don't have much on offense...and signing Scherzer to that insane contract may hamstring them down the road...they also have some other players that will have to be paid...Zimmerman/Strasburg, for example.
Lol....
The professor speaks.
so the coach is responsible for what the players do or don't do? this is not a statement being made to encite, but to discuss, lets be constructive, not destructive
...how about a different subject for a change?
once again, honest questions going unanswered, you started this thread, you said a coach is not responsible for the player's lack of production, so why do you think williams was fired?
When you have some idiot choking out the franchise player in your dug out and then you send the same idiot out to the mound afterwards. That pretty much gives a rather larger picture of why he's out of a job.
can't agree with this at all, papelbon went after the youngster cause he didn't hustle down the line, its my understanding there was no other issues between the 2 before it, and papelbon took full responsibilty, can't just admit that the coach has to take the hit because he was given the talent and was expected nothing less then a championship, and team did not even sniff PS.... so i will leave it at that
Scherzer has always hit me as a talented "dig me" rather than a team player. Granted he looked good with his no hitters but he also tanked some games that Washington Needed. On that team Harper was the man in '15, guy blossomed into a damn fine player.
Assault? I saw boys being boys. Newsflash, that's what testosterone is supposed to look like. This society needs to see more of that.Firstly, there's no defense of somebody assaulting somebody. Not in a dug out, on the street or any place else. Secondly, nobody including myself doubts it had mainly to do with the Nationals non performance this season so you can save your passive aggressive nonsense on the issue. The reason the Papelbon and Harper issue comes to the forefront is because of how Williams handled it at the time which lends itself to his lack of overall competence to run the team.
