An interesting article about the tradeoffs of the UGB. I don't like the idea of prying people from their cars nor forcing people into smaller lots, but putting a belt around the metro area has rejuvenated many areas that would have been long abandoned, especially in SE, NE and N Portland. It has also allowed us to have a mass transit system that would befit a city twice Portland's size.
