Sure, this could be an overreaction to the last 3 games or so (and he will never be 90% from the field at any point in a game again) but I think I would hold on to him until at least the off-season. We will extract more from the Nets than any other team imo. Only other team who I think could make it worth our while is Philly in my estimation (which I wouldn't be against depending on the deal - like Noel and at least an early 2nd rounder or Euro stash).

Now Plumlee is a guy I would deal at the deadline for two late 1st or mid-first and an early 2nd. Love the guy but we can't afford him this summer and need to cash in now. I guess the other option is someone like Nurkic but doubt DEN is targeting Mason.

Of course I don't have inside info but I don't believe POR Brass had any intention of dealing Crabbe at the deadline unless the deal blew them away. Leonard and others sure but imo they have a lot of faith in Allen even if that might be misplaced.

Like I said above, that could have a chance but if they trade Whiteside then they are rebuilding and likely wouldn't want to shell out the big bucks that it would take to resign Plums.

Allen Crabbe is Martell Webster 2.0. He has a beautiful jump shot but it goes in, in bunches. Like Martell, AC is just way too inconsistent. Anyone remember how hyped we were when Marty went off for 24 points in a 3rdQ against the Jazz at home during the win streak of the 07-08 season? He always had those flashes of brilliance, but at the end of the day, you really never knew what performance was coming from him on a nightly basis. That's exactly how I feel about AC right now.

Obviously I wouldn't just give him away, but it might be time (after Jan 15) to sell high. The good news for Portland is that contract doesn't appear to be untradeable at all.

I think it's tradeable with his recent performance and the fact that guys like him are only gonna get paid more and more through the next four years. His contract will look good in two years, maybe next season even

This could work...............for Goran Dragic.


Miami will most likely have a top3 pick and they'll get their new pg and with trading away Dragic they can get enough assets (a 1st pick+some guy) back to do their rebuild.

I think this deal with offering Crabbe's bad contract and Plumlee's RFA which will cost them a lot+2 picks with one of them being around 15th and the other 30th is not nearly good enough. They would only give Whiteside away for something exceptional and this is not. There are not many Cs like Hassan and Riley is smart enough to know that. He can easily do his rebuild only by trading Dragic .

So $60M to $70M (they got some deadwood to offload still, Ellington) to spend on free agents. They don't need to be spending $18M on Crabbe now, or offload Whiteside who can attract free agents in some capacity. Will also have a high pick so they could rebound from their current poor position quickly.

Allen Crabbe never will have the athleticism that Martell Webster had.

I have 0 doubt in my mind that he can put up 15-20 ppg on good efficiency if he gets enough touches and PT. It's good for other teams to realize this on his current hot streak.

If we can package some group of Crabbe/Noah/Meyers/Fes/all picks for Whiteside, you do that ASAP.

I was among the people who said that, yes. Also, I have no shame and take pleasure in the pain of others, that's accurate.

If Crabbe can maintain this level and style of play, I'll admit that I underestimated him. I still think he's a very poor defender and can't do anything but shoot. But being able to score coming around a screen (as opposed to just standstill shots when he's left alone) would separate him from an Anthony Morrow type.
