on MSP or wheelz afterwork or the game about what is going to happen.....I just get the feeling we arent going to trade....which stinks.

I'm not sweating it. RLEC is a terrific commodity and the offers will only improve the closer we get to the deadline.

I not only think we'll move him, I think we'll make two trades.

As for Wheels giving any hints, he's an employee of the Blazers. He's only putting out what the team wants us to hear.

There will be no deal until the hour or two before the deadline.

-Watch Steve Blake in the Memphis game. If he's okay, there probably won't be a PG trade

-I'm thinking Webster's health is too much of a question mark. I don't think they will approach a playoff run with 1 1/2 SFs on the roster, with Batum being the 1.

At the least, they will probably make that deal with the Kings for Salmons.

That you will all support the team win or lose!

If a deal were to happen, it wouldn't be on a Tuesday, and it wouldn't be preceded by news reports on a Tuesday.

Ford, Bucher, Stein... these guys have their sources, but I don't think they're hot on the trail, they just pick up the pieces of dead deals.

Let's wait until at least tomorrow night before we start calling things dead.

It's fruit cake.

Eww.

If you want to bake a cake and enjoy it for years, it had better be fruitcake. That stuff has staying power.

teach the cake how to play perimeter defense.

That's true, but it's clear he's gone to KP and asked exactly what he can and can't say in a very detailed manner, and then a couple of days before a key event like a draft day or trade deadline will relate everything he can say.

If you've followed his pre-draft statements the last couple of years, you know Wheelz pre-draft statements have been closer then anyone else in the media to what KP has done on draft day. He said he thought it was "more likely than not" the Blazers would draft a PG with the top pick, and gave a list of a 5 or 6 top PGs that he thought the Blazers would select from. Bayless name was on it that list, but nobody really thought Bayless would drop to where as far as he did. The year before that he said he thought it was "pretty likely" the Blazers would select Oden. Before that he was dead on about KP's apparent interest in Brandon Roy.

complete and utter disgrace on kps part if we dont make a deal..... complete failure.

no other way around it

There will be a deal. Pritchard won't slip away a golden opportunity to upgrade the teams talent by using the expiring contract like Nash failed to do with Rahim. Its been printed many times that Raef's contract is the hottest commodity in the league during this trade deadline. Pritchard has his first chance to make a move that will have virtually no monetary reprecussions because of Paul's fat wallet and new found willingness to spend it. There will be a deal, that I can guarantee.

It's fruit cake.

Eww.

Properly made (not supermarket) fruit cake not only tastes good, it is soaked in rum, brandy or bourbon - it's not going to stink.

Stop getting your panties all in a bunch. We'll make a deal. If we dont, there is no reason to not trust that KP never got a deal he liked. Remember, not all the rumors that we read and hear about are true.

They'll make a deal, relax. At the bare minimum, we'll get Richard Jefferson without giving up any over our top 8 players.

I wish it were possible to find posts made by the same people who at one time wrote "In KP We Trust" and are now writing "If we don't make a deal, it will be a failure".

For those that believe any deal for RLEC is preferable to no deal, read Richard Thaler's "The Winner's Curse".

I agree... if we don't make a deal you just have to trust KP... the right deal wasn't there. I am strongly in opposition of making a move just to do it... I'd rather have some cap space and make a deal to take back some more salary this off-season.

I only see one poster talking about failure, but I think there'll be a deal in the next 24 hours. Bake on it.

Wheels just said that Portland is getting better offers for RLEC than the Suns were getting for Amare.
