Yawn. Every politician makes claims that they care about stuff when they really don't give a crap. It's no big surprise that his tweet was 100% inaccurate. Asking a liberal politician about sports is like asking a conservative about anything other than tax cuts for their ultra rich friends.

I'm a native Portlander, so I suppose that means I have enough clout to not only agree with him that this city is run by morons, but to also ask in what other city would a pedophile be allowed to stay in office?

The mayor of this city had an affair with a 17-year old intern while in office. How he survived despite admitting to this shows how idiotic the voters in this city have become. It's not like they are overlooking that transgression due to his wonderful and effective leadership - the city is a disaster. We're letting a bunch of bums camp out in two central city parks for nearly a month now, with no plan on how to deal with this blight on our commercial core.

Well, pedophilia is really pre-pubscent children, and whatever that guys name was, was just about 18. And while it is possible for late onset puberty, chances are that Sam Adams isn't into little boys. Especially when you consider that pedophiles tend to be heterosexual in nature.

Not condoning his activities, but we shouldn't accuse him of something far worse than what he did do.

Unless I'm missing some occasions of actual pedophilia within the offices of Sam Adams during his mayoral term.

There was never a vote on keeping or not keeping Adams on as mayor, so I don't think voters can be blamed for his survival.

I don't recall (ha ha) the details, but it seems to me that the petitioners had some organizational issues that led to the failure. I would think that there would be plenty of recall signatures available in the city if you tried hard enough to find them.
