It's amazing it took this long for people to wake up and cut back on eating this garbage Mcdonalds attempts to call food.

...^^^

I don't mind stopping in for a $1 Coca-Cola, but that's it, .......

Did anyone here see Morgan Spurlock's 2 hour documentary, on "eating 3 meals a day at McDonalds for a Month"....? An experiment Morgan documented, which was telecast on CNN, TBS too.........

If I'm not mistaken Spurlock won some kind of award for this documentary. If you've not seen it, it may be a bit long winded, but IS worth the Watch.......!

Spurlock won the Best Director Award, for this documentary.......

If you don't want to watch the entire documentary above, here's a trailer, and others exists on You Tube......

Yup as I remember he got very sick. In fairness though a strictly high fat diet of anything for a month will do that.

yeah, and His Dr. asked him: "you are going to stop this after a month right?"

Spurlock gained 20 lbs, his cholestrol went thru the roof, and Morgan had to be put on Hypertension meds.......

I've got 1 out of 6 sisters, who is
#1 taller than 5' feet (My Mom was only 4'8")

#2 She's ate/eats fast food predominantly for the better part of 16 yrs, and weighs, no shit, 421 lbs........

#3 to add insult to ignorance, she pays for her fast food with a fkn credit card..........

Mickey D's food must poison the mind as well......

I do enjoy a bacon egg and cheese biscuit a couple times a year, the rest they can keep, a real scarf and barf in the truest sense.

...to be fair, McDonald's is far from the worst, not just in calories but total fat, and sodium too...but using common sense and eating moderation goes a long way.

...fries, burgers, and sandwiches; http://www.acaloriecounter.com/fast-food.php

Good point, and thanks for the chart.......

My sister eats more at Jack In the Box, Carl's Jr., and Burger King; than Micky D's....and all appear to be worse for the wear than McD's......Incredible diff b/t McD's and BK or J in the Box's Sodium Content and overall Fat content........Thanks, 59..........!!!

My own choice is always In-N-Out, about once a month. I used to take my little brother to the San Fernando In-N-Out, when it was still the 1st one in the Nation, (a decade or 2 prior to In-N-Out, Franchising).......

PS: If I had to use a Freight Scale to weigh myself, that would be the moment I quit eating..... (which is her case)......!

I'd still take McDonalds over Wendy's & Burger King any day.

But to be honest to much of any of these types of venues are no good for you. I may have McDonald's once a month & White Castle once every few months. As long as you don't over indulge you'll be fine.

Been a long time since I've been in California but when I lived in San Diego Jack in the Box was the original scarf & barf. If I want a burger out any more I head to Steak & Shake or Five Guys. We also have a couple of Mom & Pop Places close by one very baseball oriented (but Rays Fans) that do burgers nice.

Still the scarf and barf, I can't stand any burger that is fried on a grill, ......they usually all taste like grease 100%.......

White Castle to me, has always been enemy #1, due to their responsibility in turning a drunken binge hangover to the next level; an hour after gorging on those White Castle little square burgers, with reconstituted onions.........Yep, that's it, it was White Castle's fault I got drunk one too many times.......:bgrin:

Yup, moderation is the key. In fact for people that are workout freaks you would be surprised at what they consume on their cheat days. One guy used to say that's the day you eat the entire bag of oreos. Unfortunately, people do eat this crap everyday and it gets further personified by idiots like Jared who had people thinking a diet of processed food from Subway was a good thing.

...as far as McDonald's alone, their coffee is great and down here they also have a fried chicken breast breakfast biscuit that is great...their fries are pretty good but that's about all I eat from there.
...don't know if they still serve it but Hardees/Carl Jrs used to offer a fried boneless pork chop biscuit that was incredible.

...I don't eat nearly as much fast food as I used to, probably because I'm simply not in town as much anymore...hell, some of the stuff I cook at home is just as bad as a lot of fast food...for example, tonight I'm making fried pork nuggets, fresh lima beans, fresh corn with a strip on bacon wrapped around it and then wrapped in tin foil and roasted, made from scratch cracklin' bread,...and of course "the house wine of the South", fresh brewed sweet tea.

When I lived up North there were plenty of great Local Mom and Pop Sub Shops and Pizza Places. Never could understand how the chain places got in there. The squeeze brought home a Subway Sandwich the other day offered me a bite and the damn thing tasted like soap.

...lol...we.re not work out freaks by any means but me and my wife work out every weekday morning for about 1/2 hour rotating upper and lower body day and so we stay in pretty damned good shape for our age...but almost every day is a cheat day for us because we both like our beer and a lot of the food we eat is high in fat content...but at least one noght a week we have nothing but a big salad (loaded) for supper and one night a week we also have broiled/blackened fish. (swai)

...but on the weekends, anything goes.

...I know their bread is "baked fresh" there at Subway shops but it tastes nothing like fresh bread to me...yeah, they're filling, but that's about all I can say good about them

It's a disgrace to bread.

Any studies done on the results of eating steak & potatoes with dessert everyday at the some of the very BEST steakhouses in the country?

Yes, the American Heart Association has certainly weighed in on the constant consumption of red meat.

The "bread" they use at Subways sucks
Unfortunately, some of these yahoos from sticksville u.s.a. wouldn't know good sandwich bread if it fell on their heads.
I'm talking about "Italian" and "French" loaf bread they use in Jewish and Italian delis in Philly, Chicago, New York, Boston

I like a good hard italian bread. A sandwich place near me uses it and I love it. That Subway shit is like slightly cooked dough.

No doubt, many home cooked meals can or are worse than some Fast Food, but boy'o does it all taste good, (your menu for tonight)........

I'm standing by at the airport, should land in your backyard just in time for Dinner 59........

I had a buddy from Arkansas, (no kidding) who always came over to eat with us, whenever my Mom made Lima Beans, w/Ham Hocks and Corn Bread.........He'd always bring his own Red Onion, and take a bite out of it, like it were an apple, before he diced it up.......

Oh Yes, and BTW- McD's does have a great cup of coffee........

altho' I rarely indulge myself at any fast food or restaurant these days, esp for Breakfast, I still grind my own Coffee Beans every morning, just prior to brewing........

IMO, like you and others well pointed out, all Fast Food places aren't that good health wise for most, yet, that doesn't mean everything is bad.....

Besides, I'd be lying if I didn't admit:, when I lived in GA. and Luzianna, my favorite get away in the early a.m. was those tasty Pecan Waffles from the Waffle House........! Drowned in Syrup, and soaked in Whipped Butter.........!!!

Whenever I head back into north jersey, I stock up on bagels & good bread as the stuff out here sucks

...I remember my first trip to NYC and how incredible and how completely different some of the food was as compared to what I was accustomed to eating. The fresh bagels blew me away, not to mention all the things you could put on them...real pizza was an eye opener too, as was fresh sour dough bread/rolls. I can't remember the name of it right now but I do remember asking a few of the locals (Manhattan) about where to go for the best pizza and they all pretty much gave the same answer.
