A man was subdued by Klamath Falls Police Monday and taken to Sky Lakes Medical Center after law enforcement officials said he was acting strangely and brandishing a short, Oriental-style blade near the intersection of Shasta Way and South Sixth Street.

The man reportedly brandished the blade while doing a martial arts routine and encouraged police to shoot him. Officers first attempted to use a stun gun on the man but it was not effective.

Officials eventually subdued the man after using pepper spray.

Lt. Mark Carlson with the Klamath Falls Police Department said the man has not been identified, and has not been charged with a crime but is being psychologically evaluated.

Your secret is safe with us, we won't tell the cops who you are.

A murder happened in my hometown, Ashland, about a month ago where the victim was nearly decapitated by a "sword-like" blade. He was randomly assaulted at around 5 P.M. in a frequented area. I wonder if this is related.

I remember that article and thinking "someone got into the props again." Weird if it's the same guy

Is that the southbound "Rogue River Rest Stop" on I-5?

It's a typical "science" lab at a Southern Oregon high school like Klamath Union.

I'd believe that, except that it appears there is a bottle of Michelob on the sink, and we all know alcohol is not allowed in school.

Furthermore, if that actually were Klamath Union, it would have been a bottle of Coors Light.
