I had no idea there was so much hate towards European players until this weekend. It's really showing through.

He's not as explosive as the other dunkers, not even close, but he hung in there. He should have finished 3rd over Smith. The insults by Kenny Smith was classless.

I thought the judges were pretty generous with Rudy. You can make 20 attempts on the same dunk and expect to do very well.


The fact that the fans vote on the winner now is retarded, though.

Rudy sucked. Him and Smith were by far the worst. Taking so many attempts deserves a big deduction.

And it's not so much coming from the media, as it's coming from the NBA players. I sense animosity towards guys coming in and taking jobs from American-born basketball players, maybe?

#1. Rudy's first dunk was much better than a 42.

#2. Rudys 2nd dunk should have been higher than a 42 since it was arguably the best dunk in the contest and Dwight took a bunch of attempts on his first try (which wasn't cool at all btw) and got an easy 50

Yeah, because the bounce and windmill is original, and obviously difficult because so many people can do it, right? I bet Ben Gordon would have owned this competition though... :smiley-whatever:

His first dunk should have been at least a 45 imo. His 2nd dunk should have been higher than Nates. We all know the whole league wanted a Nate & Dwight final. Even Dan Majerle had to look at the other scores before he judged just to make sure Nate got in the finals.

Wow. I think this was overall the worst Dunk Contest ever, at least as far back as I can remember. I'm not sure about previous years, but this one was CLEARLY rigged. You'd think they'd try to hide that just a little, but it's blatantly obvious.

I also thought both of Rudy's dunks were very nice.

Rudy's 2nd dunk was the 2nd best of the night. He basically took a dunk that has gotten 50s in the past and made it better. It's not his fault Pau messed up the pass so many times.

Unfortunately, the drunk contest has become less about the drunk, and more about what you wear.

He had two of my three favorite dunks. We all knew Howard would make the finals, and it really is a popularity contest. It was cool to see him throw down some sweet dunks, and simply be participating. I think he could've had a 50 on the second one if it hadn't taken so many tries/so long. Oh well, such is life.

Dwight Howard completely sucked, too. His best dunk was the one off the side of the backboard, but even that was already done by Gerald Green, except Green caught it and windmilled before stuffing it.
