Re: Prepare to be shocked

This happened 6 months too late!

Re: Prepare to be shocked

Actually I believe there was a supreme court case about car searches like this recently, and that search was illegal. He will probably get off.

There is a Supreme Court case that says that not legally signaling a turn and driving with a suspended license means your car can't be searched?

Also, Miles is really serious about coming back, isn't he? I'd love to see his booking photo just to see how much Cold Stone he's pounded since the season ended.

Regardless of your personal opinions about the law ... it is just that. It's not ambiguous. You get caught with marijuana and you are breaking the law.

I bet Darius knew that when he decided to carry it with him in his car.

Re: Prepare to be shocked

the better question is, would this have any impact on the 9 mil he's supposed to get from the blazers?

Sadly, no. Once we cut him, he was guaranteed his money, even if he killed someone.

Did we cut him or did we declare him medically unfit to play? You'd think there would be a difference, but maybe there isn't.

The NBA declared he was medically unfit to play, and as such allowed us to cut him to get the cap space.

Re: Prepare to be shocked

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Darius and his family. A remarkable man who we most certainly have not heard the last from will bounce back and prove his naysayers wrong once again (Translation: What a turd. I can't believe this puke is the reason we can't go after a marquee FA this summer)

Don't give up Darius! We still believe in you! Thanks again for all of your hard work and contributions to the Portland Trailblazers and the Portland Community in general.

This doesn't even make any sense. The search was incident to arrest (hence the driving with a suspended license).

Did they teach basic comprehension where you went to school?

There is no gray area on this one.

Open up a new thread in the OT forum if you want to talk about legalizing marijuana.

I find it kinda funny in an ironic way that an OSU student is the one saying who cares, its just weed. and a Duck fan is talking about it being against the law. lol sorry its just hit me.

Word ... I caught the irony too. Now if he was saying, "who cares, it's just meth," then it would make more sense coming from an OSU student. :ghoti: :devilwink:

Well, "who cares", in the sense that he is somebody elses problem now!

He will probably just pay a fine, and get back to doing what he does best - spending the money he stole from PA.

Re: Prepare to be shocked

Will his prior suspension for drug policy violations come into play at all with this, i.e. another suspension?

Edit: If he's signed by anyone this season, that is.

photoshop isn't necessary, here is an actual photo taken from the Memphis training facility. Not his mug shot, but it gives you some idea of what his physique is turning into...

For fun, I thought to look up what the Memphis paper is writing about this. Pretty much what one might guess.....

Grizzlies management did not respond to a request for a statement on the matter.

Miles is an unrestricted free agent. He played in 34 games for the Griz this season. Although the Griz haven’t publicly stated their intentions, their plan was always to start next season without Miles.

The Griz grew weary of Miles’ waning work ethic and his relationship with rookie guard O.J. Mayo.

There was widespread concern in the organization about Miles’ off-the-court influence on Mayo near the end of the season.

Character might be a major issue for another team interested in Miles, who was suspended last season for violating the NBA's anti-drug program.

That story about Miles being a bad influence on Mayo is fucking epic. Once a douche always a douche. Then again Mayo isn't exactly the most squeaky clean guy these days.
