I just heard he got fired from the Nuggets. Very surprising to me anyway.

Something must have happened. He's a damn good coach!
Someone linked a video from a few weeks back after they lost to us where Malone said the players aren’t watching tape. Seems like maybe he lost the locker room. He has always come off as abrasive to me. Kinda like Rick Carlisle.

Inb4 daily “hire this guy instead of Chauncey” thread summer.

KD and Booker apparently wanted the Suns to bring Chauncey to Phoenix but Denver would really tempt him I think as a destination. Malone is a good coach. I'll bet Philly and Phoenix will be looking at him right away. If you want a top tier coach, Malone is one of the few out there. Knicks might cut Thibs loose as well with Malone on the market.

I can see how rationale and realistic the fans here are being.

Oooh. New shiny object!!!!

Why would Malone want to come here?
That would be a question for him..I know why I moved here. Clean air and drinkable water. More trees than concrete. Not 130 degrees in the summer.

Yeah I'd be for Malone as coach. All of the Nuggets problems is that roster. He got a washed up 36 year old Westbrook to be a positive impact double digit scorer this year.

Funny that I could see the Nuggets being very interested in hiring Billups.

Yeah, they are on a downward trajectory after getting the trophy. They are starting a pre rebuild around Jokic in the short term, trying to do a quick rebuild with new GM and coach to try and stay aloft. They likely feel Malone and the GM took them as far as they could, got a championship, and won't do it again. Trying to do a quick reshuffle in the hopes they don't have to do a full rebuild.

I get what they are doing. But, why not wait til the season/playoffs are over?

They don't have enough. Let Jokic go.

No they don't, but they are going to keep him for now and try. MPJ will be moved this summer maybe even Murray, but Jokic will stay.

No doubt. They'll be trying to get him help for ages... Maybe if they can trade for enough draft picks and they draft well... But he probably doesn't have a ton of time left at this level.
