Mickey signed with the Yankees organization on the day he graduated from high school in 1949.

Mickey signed for $400 to play for the class "D" team in Independence, Kansas of the KOM (Kansas -Oklahoma - Missouri) league. He also received a bonus of $1,150.

When the Yanx signed The Mick, he was playing SS.........

Mickey appeared at shortstop for the Yankees in seven games: one in 1953, four in 1954 and two in 1955.
