Ever wonder how the procedure is done?

Making the holes for the marrow clot looks brutal. I found this while I was merely looking for Oden highlight vids.

The goal is to create scar tissue, which means it's probably better to make crude holes rather than clean ones. The scar tissue replicates a cartilaginous substance.

Actually it's the equivalent of a "scab" on the inside of your body. The coagulated blood and bone marrow create fibrous tissue which serves as a cushion similarly to how cartilege cushions.
