you have probably heard already about the massive Russian breach of computer systems over the last 6-8 months. Another dereliction of duty by trump, if not treason

well, turns out that even though the federal government appears nearly helpless, Microsoft wasn't and has not only joined the battle, but won several engagements in less than a week:

kind of reassuring and scary at the same time

maybe that old joke "the first time Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck is when they start making vacuum cleaners" is outdated

Microsoft has been the main force around making personal computing affordable and available for all since a very early stage. I know people like to whine about how successful and rich they become and how many issues they had - but they were the first company to basically tackle the issue of billion+ customers. Anyone that thought this was not going to be a challenge has no idea how technology in general and software specifically works.

So, Microsoft as a force for good, in the great balance of things, certainly and has been for a long time. Does not mean that they made a lot of stupid mistakes along the way or used their power improperly at times.

I worked with a woman once who was a Mac fanatic and hated Microsoft. I went to Portland to see the Blazers and there was Bill Gates sitting by Paul Allen. I used a long lens to shoot a photo of the two of them. When I showed it to her she gave that warding off a vampire gesture.

Still have that pic in one of my albums.

Bill "Sterilize the world" Gates's Microsoft is Deep State and an accomplice in the hacking.

Wake the fuck up.

This is so very accurate and correct.

My question is, in the long run will the ‘invasion’ of technology into our lives be harmful or beneficial?

I believe technology will be critical and necessary if we are to survive industry.
