Overall, a pretty interesting article.

Here are a few snippets of Miles' remarks:

......Though Miles's career seemed to be bogging down with mediocre teams, his numbers were improving in Portland before he was injured 15 games into the 2005-06 season. Miles was averaging 18.2 points at that point in the season, then returned for the final 25 games and finished the season at 14.0 points per game.

After training with Robert Pound, who helped Jason Kidd and Amare Stoudemire recover from similar (knee) injuries, Miles nearly returned last season.

"A lot of players don't come back from microfractures," Miles said. "But the more people get it, the more we learn about rehabbing from it, and the more people come back from it.

"[Pound] knew it was going to be a long road and he asked me before we started, 'Do you really want to do this, because I don't want to waste my time?' There were two-a-days for eight straight months, and there were times when I didn't want to come.

"It's a long road and there were no guarantees. I try be loyal to my contract, the team was paying me to try to win a championship, and I felt I had to go and at least try to put the work in to be back on the court.

"It was a long two years. I felt I could have played last year, but that wasn't in the [Blazers'] plans. It was real frustrating. When you've been doing something so long, you kind of lose a love for it from not playing, then you go back to having so much love for it.

"I wish it could have been a better situation for both parties, but I've moved on and they have moved on, so I want to leave it in the past and forget about it, and try to win with this team.

"They made a decision on the career-ending injury, they made it for the organization, but I felt they didn't have my best interests at heart. I don't have to prove anything, because I always knew I had the skills to play at this level. But it did make me hungry and fired up. I really wanted to go to a great situation, if I did get another chance.

"So, now I'm here and it's truly a blessing to go from a career-ending injury to getting signed by the champions. A lot of people weren't expecting that. When [Celtics general manager] Danny Ainge gave me the chance, I knew this was where I wanted to be.

"Here, it's about the championship and bigger goals, instead of about one player. I'm only 26. I was watching these guys on TV a few years ago and now I have a chance to play with them."

Which is also kind of wierd....

The Blazers trade in one bad knee for potentially another??

The Trail Blazers are considering signing former Los Angeles Clippers point guard Shaun Livingston after top members of the Blazers front office viewed an hour workout with the 23-year-old point guard Friday in Tucson, Ariz.

The workout was viewed by general manager Kevin Pritchard, assistant general manager Tom Penn and coach Nate McMillan.

Pritchard confirmed the workout, but declined to comment on how Livingston looked, or where the Blazers were in the process. Livingston is still recovering from a devastating injury to his left knee that caused him to miss all of last season. In February 2007, while attempting a fast-break layup against Charlotte, Livingston tore his anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament and lateral meniscus. He also dislocated his patella. He was averaging 9.5 points and 5.2 assists at the time of his injury.

The fourth overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft, Livingston missed 39 games during his rookie season after dislocating his right knee. The Clippers waived Livingston in July after signing Baron Davis and drafting Eric Gordon.

It is believed the Blazers next want to view Livingston's medical records and have a doctor examine his surgically repaired knee. The Blazers have one roster spot open as they prepare to open training camp on Sept. 30. Three free agents -- forward Luke Jackson, center Steven Hill and guard Jamaal Tatum -- have been invited to camp to compete for the final spot. Livingston, a tall point guard at 6-foot-7, will likely be viewed as a piece that can help the team in years to come, but not immediately.

He'll make the team for us. :)

Of course he'll have to show that he's worth keeping on the bench, but I'm sure that we'll keep him.

I know that Ainge felt he was mislead by Patterson and (perhaps) Pritchard in their representations to him about Telfair. Before he spun crap into gold by having his BFF McHale saving his bacon, that deal was a real embarrassment for Ainge and almost cost him his job.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ainge wanted to stick it to the Blazers by telling Doc to put him on the floor for 30 seconds at the end of a blowout win (of which the Celts will have many) for 10 games.

Darius is a sad tale. He could have been KG, but instead will be known as a waste of immense talent.

That's ok if Ainge wants to do that, We still have Raef's expiring to trade midseason

Could be. lol

I'm hoping for more than 30 seconds per game though. They clearly saw something during the workouts he had privately with the Celtics, to give him a chance like this, with the championship team.

Clyde Drexler says he could still score 20 points in an NBA game.

He also says he wouldn't be able to walk the next day.

Maybe its like that with Miles. Maybe he can play a bit.... but his body isn't really durable enough to play regularly without breaking.
