I knew it wouldn't last long, he's an undersized 2 guard in my opinion and for all the effort he puts out to stay in front of his man on defense, it doesn't matter cause he's just not strong enough to defend anybody.

I would certainly disagree with Mills being a SG. He's a pure PG all the way. But his game can be predictable and so far he doesn't seem to be getting it. It's more than just dribbling around and shooting. I'm surprised he hasn't learned more from Miller.

Patty Mills is not a natural distributor. He is not a pure PG. When he is in the game he shoots way too much. He's a chucker.

Can't say I'm sorry to see this. I love Mills' energy and the attitude he brings to the team and the bench, but he is absolutely HORRIBLE. The offense falls apart when he is trying to run the PG. I don't know how he earned the responsibility of closing out so many quarters, but has he EVER scored on the final possession of a quarter?

A "pure" PG doesn't mean they can't score. IMO, it means they can direct and run the offense. a "pure" PG should make it extremely noticeable how the offense falls apart when they leave the game. This is true for Nash. I think it is true for Miller. The opposite is true for Mills.

It seems like pure point guards are by necessity very good point guards. I can't think of a bad pure point guard, because if they aren't good enough to direct an offense well, they are by definition not directing the offense, which makes them not a pure point guard.

So really, in our search for a pure point guard, we're trying to find something that is not only rare, but nearly impossible to find in a backup.

I feel the same way about Mills that I felt about Channing Frye. Great guys and I love that they have embraced this city, but they are horrible when they actually play for the team.

Compared to old hand Miller, Mills makes more mistakes, despite taking more time to make decisions. But on a non-McMillan team, the style might be helter-skelter, so he'd fit right in.
