Maybe it's just me, but with a super-rich flip-flopper from Massachusetts challenging an embattled incumbent, this election feels quite similar to '04.

Those of you who are much more closely acquainted with the politics than I am, what say you? Does Romney stand any better (or worse) chance of winning in November than Kerry did 8 years ago?

If so, it should make for an interesting election. I always thought the whole swiftboat thing was kind of interesting given Bush Jr.'s military exploits (or lack thereof). We will probably see some similar things take shape in this election from both sides.

One candidate actually served in the military, one candidate spent many years in France avoiding the draft. One candidate married into wealth, one "found creative business practices to become wealthy. One candidate was a generic christian, the other was a fringe christian.
