MLB star Jeremy Giambi dies aged 47: Former Red Sox player, brother of Yankees' Jason Giambi, is 'found dead from suicide at his parents' California home'
  • Jeremy Giambi, 47, who played in the MLB between 1998 to 2003, died at his parents home in Southern California on Wednesday
  • Law enforcement sources told TMZ Giambi had committed suicide
  • Giambi had played for for the Kansas City Royals Royals, Philadelphia Phillies, Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox
  • His best season was in 2001 when he played alongside his brother, Yankees star Jason Giambi, on the Oakland Athletics
  • Their season was captured in the 2003 bestseller 'Moneyball' and the subsequent 2011 Brad Pitt film of the same name

I knew someone who isolated himself and did himself in.
I am truly sorry to hear that. But so far as I know there has been no public reveal about Jeremy. Face it, a lot of shrinks are very far from Hollywood movie ideal.

I read he fell very hard, laid down, then died. I assume he had a severe concussion and blood clot.
