Moore rejects Nets offer, Nets no longer interested?

WTF? Moore is getting more self-fish then he has ever been. I thought he liked played with Jason Kidd?

He is probably thinking he is gonna have to play behind Kristic, which he thinks is not right. He can get offers else where, but to play with Kidd, Carter and Jefferson, is a Honor, and I don't know what he is thinking. Kidd made him, and so did Carter. He was D league material before the Nets took him. I guess this is just the business of the NBA. Can't blame him, he most know he can get more money else where. Well, his career.

Not really, this has been the first time that Mikki's been worth something. He's just trying to finally cash in, and take the best offer he can get. The Nets are starting small, but they aren't planning to overpay him either. I think 15mil over 3 years, is a reasonable price.

Well I don't know if players think of it like that, but if he goes to Chicago, he get's a chance to go to an arguably better team and still contribute.

Quite the opposite. Guy has bounced around the league, in and out, and had to buyout his own contract at one point.... Being offered 10 million when you're being offered 3 or more times that...you really would take less?

Actually, if he goes to the Grizzlies, he'd probably earn a spot in their starting rotation. They have more cap room than any team outside of Charlotte, and they need another bigman to play alongside Gasol, at either the four or five spot, because Gasol's versatile enough to play either.

I guess the only real hang-up is whether the Grizzlies target Moore, Milic, or Varejao. Apparently they've offered Varejao a five year contract worth $41 million, but he'd like to stick around with the Cavs, so if they give him the full mid-level exception, then he's likely staying in Cleveland. Then after Varejao, Milicic is probably their biggest target. If neither one signs with Memphis though, I'm expecting Moore to be the Grizzlies' starting center next season.

I can understand the logic in saying that playing alongside Jason Kidd makes him look better, but why would playing alongside Jefferson and Carter matter? That just seems completely irrelevant. If anything, they're going to take touches away from Moore.

(Completely off-topic, but if anyone ever plays NBA Live '05, they should sign Mikki Moore. The game's flawed to where if you bring in any long, tall player like Moore or Tyson Chandler, you can dominate with them in the paint despite their low skill ratings, just because of how tall and long they are.)

Actually Carter probably helped Mikki as much or maybe more than Kidd. Him and Carter ran a lot of pick and roll together, and when the defense focused on Carter he was able to get the ball to Mikki for jumpshots which Mikki hit a huge percentage of.

Well, I can understand how Carter gave him opportunities, but I just don't think those are opportunities that will disappear if he decides to go elsewhere. He's going to get that with any wing. If he went down in Memphis, for example, he'd have the same sort of relationship with Mike Miller.

It's also crazy how useless guys like Shane Battier and Bruce Bowen are in that game. On defense, all you can do is double team, constantly get up in your defender's face pressing the steal button, or just hang around the post with a guy like Moore/Chandler waiting to swat whatever comes inside. Organized defenses are just ineffective in NBA Live.
