I haven’t watched a movie in ages. Somewhere down the line a few years ago I stopped watching Netflix. Haven’t been to a theater since before COVID.

I don't view a lot of movies and have no desire to be on YouTube.

I did watch Halloween. At least had the merit of being suspenseful. But the basic premise was wildly improbable. Prologue, a teen girl babysitting much younger brother takes advantage of parents being out to have boyfriend over for make out session. Boyfriend leaves, girl combing hair at dressing table. The door opens and she calls to her brother not to come in, she isn't dressed. Whereupon he stabs her with big knife (which had been stored loose in a drawer, never store knives that way). He is sent to an institution and after 15 years escapes and returns to home town.

Children sometimes kill but nearly always younger smaller children or animals. I seriously doubt a boy of five or six has the physical strength to stab to death a sibling maybe 10 years older.

Anyway, slasher films not my favorite genre. I like horror movies with an actual plot. Psycho. I Know What You Did Last Summer, Hands of Orloc.

Well, I appreciate your reviews of these classic B movies. I'm not sure if you were trying to be funny or not, but it cracked me up.

The Baltimorons was a good Christmas themed movie. Not your typical cheesy holiday movie.
Been looking for some non-traditional Christmas movies for me and the wife to watch. We still take in the classics like Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, Elf, Wonderful Life, Bad Santa, Die Hard etc but always wanting to see new ones too. Recently I really liked Violent Night and Fatman, but looking for more of those non-Hallmark Channel type of movies. Any recommendations?

Violent Night was surprisingly good the first time.

If you're reading this don't get your hopes up too much, because I'm not sure I'll want to watch it a 3rd time. But still... I was expecting much worse.

I'll probably watch it again in a few years...

Fat Man really fell flat for me. I keep looking at it sitting there in my digital Prime video purchases and I just can't imagine watching it again and wonder what was the point of this film? Seems like it was just a film that tried to ride on Gibson's name and the shock value of the title and the premise but it really felt like a nothing burger. I might have to try it again.

The Last Christmas on Netflix is good fun. I'm not a Christmas movie person but I very much enjoyed it.

Watched Eden with Jude Law and Anna de Armas and it was brilliant. True story based on a 1929 journey and tragedy in the Galapagos island of Floreanna. Really compelling film and a weird story given the circumstances.

I binge watched the last two Bond movies and the only ones I'd never seen. I thought they were really good, especially the last one. They're sort of bookend movies with the same love interest but Ralph Fiennes is wonderful as "M" and the new "Q" is great as well. Feel like I've finished a series of novels now. I sort of hope they don't make another one and let the ending be just that.

Those are the only two Bond movies you've ever watched? Spectre and No Time to Die? Honestly I think the Daniel Craig movies are great (outside of Quantum of Solace which was kind of screwed over by a writers strike) and worth watching all of them.

Going through some of the Best Picture noms ... already saw Sinners and F1 ... both were very good.

One Battle After Another ... I'm NOT a PTA fan, don't get the love that people have for his movies. This might have been the best of the bunch and worth seeing just for Antonio Banderas along with 'The Road Scene' but overall an 8.1/10

Bugonia ... Again not a big fan of Yorgos Lanthimos but this one was good. Emma Stone does a very good job as the woman kidnapped because a couple of guys think she's an alien. Jesse Plemons continues to confound me having watched him since his days as Landry on Friday Night Lights, to Breaking Bad and now into movies, just how great he is in everything he does. 7.8/10

You misunderstood me. After watching spectre and no time to die I’ve now seen every bond film. They were the two I had not seen. Last night I rewatched skyfall
