Wow! I don't understand a damn thing in this thread.

There are a lot of gun-related links and articles on that site, huh?

The Washington Times is a newspaper created and owned by the crazy Moonies. It is the Republican paper in D.C. The Republican party objects to foreign-owned American papers only if they aren't Republican.

The other surviving D.C. paper is the Washington Post. The more liberal Washington Star was destroyed by Nixon. He announced he would war with the media. Then he put out of business Life and Look magazines, the Saturday Evening Post, etc.

The Moonies, who worship their head man in Korea, suddenly appeared in America in 1974, recruiting on college campuses. For a few months, you couldn't walk on a campus without them accosting you. I was stopped on 2 campuses 1500 miles apart within 1 week. It was a national recruitment drive, funded from South Korea, a big Nixon ally then. Soon they created the Washington Times and the Washington Star disappeared.

When Denny cites the Times, I deride it as the Moonie paper, but I guess everyone here is too young to know what that means.

Moon seems like your kind of guy.

After Reagan closed the United Press International news service (AP's competitor for decades), UPI was dead for a few years. But then it was arranged to give the Moonie paper exclusive rights to UPI. So now they have some decent content. Not much, but a little.

You should write this down. You won't find this history on the internet. You have to be a news addict to catch these details in small, unfeatured articles.

Only if you're not wearing a tin foil hat. Then these small details find there way in there.

This stuff about calling me crazy is getting tiresome. Maybe I should respond in kind.

Did Israel send you here to steal an established message board?

Tit for tat.

Moonies are... crazy, but everything you say isn't.

For the record, I think that Denny runs this board beautifully. The moderators have just the right touch.

I envisioned this being a long liberal conservative arguing thread, Sly ruined it, RUINED IT!

I really don't understand why it's the government's concern who private businesses choose to serve and not serve. If a business wants to discriminate based on any metric, it's their choice. It will be my choice not to frequent those establishments.
