Hey, guys. Let's everyone post their best fantasy team and we can argue over who has the best one like nerds.

Here's mine.

PG: Steve Nash
PG: Jose Calderon
PG: Devin Harris
PG/SG: Monta Ellis
SG: Brandon Roy
SG: Ronnie Brewer
SG: Rudy Fernandez
SF/SG John Salmons
PF: Elton Brand
PF: David West
C: Andrew Bynum
C: Chris Kaman
C: Andris Biedrens

I picked 7th out of 12. I think I have dimes, steals, boards and blocks taken care of. I like my FG% too. One thing that could fuck me over is that I only have one SF and ESPN is pretty strict in their player positions. Brandon Roy is listed as a SG. Not even a GF. So, there's that. Monta Ellis will give me a boost late in the year, I hope. I hope Rudy will do a little bit of everything, but I don't expect the best stats out of him. I did it for homerism, mainly. Besides, I took him with the last pick I had (in all my leagues.)

PUT EM UP

What was this a league with you and three other people?

Rudy was you last pick? I don't have a problem with that. What round did you pick Ellis in? That's the only pick that worries me. I might try to trade him for a SF if at all possible. Other than that you have a nice team.

Ellis was second to last :D

as for yours hoojacks, wow. you got the PG position set. your big men are set and you got a potential breakout player in salmons. looks really good!

I'm just drooling over your guys with multiple positions. The only bad thing I can say about ESPN fantasy is that all but like, 10 random dudes have only one position. How can they not make BRoy at least be able to slide over to SF, if not PG?

Well either you had a lot of people on autodraft, or more likely are playing with a lot of people who have no idea what they are doing. So although you may know your stuff, the fact that you got that team out of a 12-team draft says more about your opponents than you. It is a good team, and weak at SF like you said but that's the easiest position to find some waiver player deciding to tear it up for two weeks at a time. Is this Roto or H2H?

But yeah, if you managed to get that then I can't imagine how awful other teams must be.

To be honest I'm a bit concerned. I think that PG and C are the most important positions in the fantasy draft. You need the guards to get your assists, steals, and 3PTM, and you need big men for rebounds, blocks and to anchor your FG% with a high volume of shots.

Amare was the right pick at four (I'm assuming Paul, Kobe and James were off the board), but I have a suspicion you'll be average or below in FT% as well. Many of your players are young and have upside...but it's also that they are unproven. I don't like relying on guys like Young and Stuckey, Maxiell, Kopono, Pietrus, Lopez and especially Diaw (as talented as he is, it's a mixed bag).

Then again, I've never played in a roto league, but this is not the roster I'd like to have. More dominance at PG and C (which are also hard positions to acquire via trade into the season).

H2H or Roto? You have a lot of chuckers on your team, so your FG% might not be too good, and you aren't sitting pretty if Bynum or Yao go out (I like to carry multiple PF/C eligible players). I think your big men are pretty weak outside of those two and Bogut. Not a fan of Kenyon Martin or Jeff Green, not sure Rudy will get the minutes to be very valuable. I think you'll be weak in assists, and steals, as well as your PG's don't give you numbers that other PG1's would.

Eh, it's okay, depending on the format of the league. You don't seem particularly weak in any area, and at least you have three quality centers, which is excellent.

Here's the ESPN League that I joined with BenDavis and people from this board:

PG: Steve Nash
SG: Corey Maggette
SF: Andrei Kirilinko
PF: Carlos Boozer
C: Marcus Camby
G: Jose Calderon
F: Josh Howard
Util: Yao Ming
Util: Richard Hamilton
Util: Mo Williams
Bench: Manu Ginobili
Bench: Tyson Chandler
Bench: Jermaine O'Neal

Granted, this was an 8-team draft, so there are a lot of good players on everyone's roster and many good players in free agency that wouldn't be in a standard league. I also drafted this team using metrics like 3PT% (odd) which was later changed to 3PTM, but that's okay. I should win most of the categories, most of the weeks.

Yahoo League with MasRipCity and friends:

PG: Steve Nash
SG: Paul Pierce
G: Mo Williams
G: Stephen Jackson
SF: Shawn Marion
PF: Gerald Wallace
F: Charlie Villanueva
F: Thadeus Young
C: Yao Ming
C: Andrew Bogut
Util: Zyundrus Ilgauskas
Util: O.J. Mayo
Bench: Gilbert Arenas
Bench: Marc Gasol
Bench: Andre Blatche

So in this league I had a lot of players stolen from me (I drafted 9th out of 10), and although I'm not thrilled with Marion and Nash on my team, I do like where in the draft I got them at. I was trying to target big men but they kept going before I got a chance and had to take G/F players earlier than I wanted to. Hopefully Arenas comes back healthy (in the games he played last year he was a sixth-round value) and Mayo/Gasol live up to the hype. I was hoping Blatche would take the injury to Brendan Haywood as an opportunity to be the starting center; he has some great split stats from starting last year, but now it looks like he might be buried behind Etan Thomas and has to compete with Darius Songalia and Javale McGee for minutes. But he has a lot of skill and will put up great blocks numbers if he gets 25 minutes a night.

Both leagues are H2H, and I think I'm pretty strong in enough categories in both leagues.

This is my team in a 30 team experts league... the draft was before Martel and Haywood got injured... h2h

PG- D. Harris
SG- Martel Webster
Daquan Cook
Chris Douglas Roberts
SF- Ron Artest
CJ Miles
Danillo Galinari
PF- Chris Bosh
C- Brandan Haywood
Johan Petro

I think that would be a pretty good NBA team, well if only 6 players played per week.

That's painful in the sense that not that many players get enough quality burn during actual games. In most fantasy leagues you're talking 13 players x 10-12 teams, so about 130-150 players on a roster at any given time. In your case you have many, many more. What sort of experts league is it (i.e. run by a site, etc.)?

NBA.com runs the Premier Fantasy Championship and I had a team for season 2 http://www.nba.com/fantasy/features/pfcII_home.html (Portland). Basically each owner drafts a team, then picks a franchise player and then based on your franchise players rank you determine draft position. So if you pick Cleveland and pick Lebron you may have a good franchise player but you will be picking at the end of every round, on the other hand if you select a player like Spencer Hawes as your franchise player you will be picking close to first in every round, so there is some strategy involved. NBA.com and CBS sportsline are the only sites that support 30 team leagues, its 150$ for a CBS sportsline league so 5$ per team or you can do it on NBA.com but this year they have really dropped the ball with their product which isn't ready for release and the season is about to start. The league that im in now is a mixture of the winners of the first two season and other guys who had a good time playing together.

Hmm, it is interesting to see how they can expand the range of fantasy games. I signed up for, but have not yet done anything with the NBA Stock game (or something like that) where essentially players are assigned dollar values and traded on a market similar to the stock market. It's at NBA.com. At this point I don't pay for any leagues.

NBA.com's Ultimate Fantasy Commisioner is their league program and it supports up to 30 teams.

Does anyone want to start an actual 12 man team on ESPN where everyone shows up for the draft and checks their teams?

It's Roto. The only real chuckers on the team are Durant and McGrady. Jeff Green I'll probably end up dropping to pad stats week to week. And I think Martin will have a decent year this year, with Camby out of the way.

I'm in a 13 team league with my buddies (11 of which really know their fantasy NBA). There was a rush on centers unlike anything I've ever seen, so I was forced to wait until the mid-rounds to pick up so big guys. This draft was 10 days ago before I found out Marcus Williams was in Don Nelson's dog house.

1. Shawn Marion
2. Allen Iverson
3. Antawn Jamison
4. Brandon Roy
5. Andrew Bogut
6. Mike Bibby
7. Troy Murphy
8. O.J. Mayo
9. Charlie Villanueva
10. Marcus Williams
11. Monta Ellis
12. Darko Milicic
13. Tyrus Thomas
14. Marc Gasol

Picking last, out of 10 teams I ended up with this...*dropped Kapono and picked up Korver
1. (10) Deron Williams
2. (11) Dwight Howard
3. (30) Kevin Martin
4. (31) Joe Johnson
5. (50) Mike Dunleavy
6. (51) Greg Oden
7. (70) Tony Parker
8. (71) David Lee
9. (90) John Salmons
10. (91) Monta Ellis
11. (110) Rudy Fernandez
12. (111) Travis Outlaw
13. (130) Jason Kapono
14. (131) Eric Gordon
15. (150) Sean Williams

Are their five players in your league? At worst, LeBron was 3rd. And if you picked up Garnett on the swing, he was surely before pick number 12 I'd think. Maybe seven or eight players, but that isn't from a 12 or 10 team draft me thinks.
