Previous Defensive Coordinator for the Super Bowl Champion XL Pittsburgh Steelers has decided to run his own team. Just yesterday, Coach Mike Smith was interviewed for his coaching job.Balanced Offense4-3 Defense

The offers were from the following teams:Houston Texans - 6.4M/4 yrsGreen Bay Packers - 8.7M/4 yrsOakland Raiders - 16.1M/5 yrsNew York Jets - 3.5M/2 yrsDetroit Lions - 7.1M/ 2 yrs.I automatically threw the Raiders and Lions out. I had no interest in them. Did I want a #1 pick in the upcoming draft, or did I want a team that I might be able to turn around in Year 1?When it came down, all and all, I decided on the Houston Texans.

This will be a tough turn-around, but I am relying heavily on the draft, and Free-Agency.Next update soon...(Sorry this is so much like Uptown's. There is really no other way to do it.)

On to the first weekly staff meeting. It was the first time Mike got to see his coaching staff.

Coach Mike Smith got to decide who he was going to work with and re-sign, or who he would let go.Coach Smith immediately let go of Coach Calhoun(56), and resigned the rest.

With the first interview of the day, the Houston Texans have a new SP Coach in Joe Marciano.

Several interviews, and several long days later, Coach Smith found another coach to fill in his Offensive Coordinator slot. Coach Copper.

At the next weekly Staff Meeting, the coaches were suggesting which players Coach Mike Smith should bring back.DL Coach: Gary WalkerSP Coach : Chad StanleyOL Coach: Seth WandWR Coach: Jabar GaffneyCoach Smith resigned every one of those players but DL Gary Walker, and OL Seth Wand. After numerous resigning periods, it was time for the NFL Combine. The Houton Texans have traded away their first pick for the Bills (1st Rd - 8th Overall) and 3rd Round pick.Then on to the 2006 NFL Draft...
