As a talent, he is not that bad, he can do many things even if there's no one thing he does better than everyone.
But my problem with him he plays like he doesn't belong, like he doesn't think he himself should play. I say if you're already out there feel like you belong, do your best and believe in yourself. Go out there telling yourself that you will prove you should be there or get benched trying. Play like you have nothing to lose. Don't just hang in there go out like you have something to prove!
You can do it.

Really?

I have never seen that in him.

That said, I'd like to see him put the ball on the floor more and create his own shot.

He's a sporadic role player. What else more do you expect of him?

He should be planning on doing a Tonya Harding to Batum so he can take his spot in the lineup. He should act like he wants to be a starter, pissed off that he isn't one and ready to do whatever it takes to get there.

He hit a game winner and then this crap gets posted? Stupid.

exactly! I think their problem with Dorell Wright is they haven't learned to spell his name yet. The guy has game. Rebounds well, defends well. Now he's hit a game winner! I'll take that anyday!

Nothing is wrong with Wright's mentality. Wright is out early before the game taking shots (from the corner he just hit the game winner) almost every game I go to. He has managed to take his talents and carve a decent NBA career out of it.

He is a consummate pro

Yes I don't question his work ethic, I want him to have more confidence and determination going against other players in game time situations. I think there are various things he can do, he can score, he can drive, he can rebound, he's a good passer but he sometimes seems unsure of himself.

This. I've been to about 15 games. He is out there shooting an hour before the game. Every time.

I was upset at how we played against the Kings, him giving Wright so many minutes and not making minimal adjustments defensively. I was mostly upset at how the team played therefore blaming the coach. I do think Stotts is a good coach who has his weaknesses, probably any coach does.

A great game for Wright against the Jazz. 100% from the field, some very solid defense, +18 rating.

Wright plays better as a starter. Coming off the bench is just not his thing.

jump shooters are always better in starting roles. coming off the bench cold and getting in a rhythm when everybody else on the floor is already in theirs is quite challenging. that's why he's a valuable commodity.
