Yet another close-but-no-cigar attempt by their opponent.

Crap! My Falcons can't gain a much-needed game.

The AFC is still stronger.

Falcons will be quite nice given a couple more years though. Hopefully Turner holds up too, he's been playing great.

You and I can't talk football this week. :hangsheadinshame:

I was thinking of Maxie while driving from DC to Pax River Friday. ESPN 980 "Home of the Redskins" for 4 hours. Kind of funny to hear Vinny Cerrato talking about how the team's not performing, and how he "knows what the fans are going through". That, combined with Riggo lighting up Snyder and the defensive coordinator making Snyder sound like he'll be the next winner of the Nobel Peace Prize after putting Mother Theresa to shame made for a fun day. And hearing John Thompson (yeah, the Georgetown JT) talking about his football picks for the weekend were pretty high comedy.

After Cerrato said that he believes he gave Zorn a playoff-caliber roster, I liked Zorn's response on radio: "If we have a playoff-caliber roster, we will make the playoffs." It was a perfect public response...it neither gave up on the season (the season seems lost, but the head coach can't appear to give up), put down the players nor directly contradicted Cerrato. Yet made it clear that he did not feel his coaching was the problem. A very diplomatic way of putting it right back on Cerrato.

Vinny Cerrato is a joke. Dan Snyder is the devil. Jim Zorn is incompetent. The players look at the size of their paychecks and their initial draft position to evaluate their games rather than their performance.

The parallels between my Skins today and Mo Cheeks last season is remarkable...and depressing.

Getting back the Saints, the big difference this year is they have an excellent defense. The offense was always there, but it was like watching the Golden State Warriors. Sure they could score, but could they stop anyone? That situation has changed. Gregg Williams is a tremendous defensive coordinator and he's doing a great job in The Big Easy.
