So if there was an NBA Mt. Rushmore, what 4 NBA players would you have carved on the mountain?

THe big O
Jordan
Magic
Bill Russell

not most people's choices but mine

Jordan, Russell, Chamberlain, ...

Edit: I actually can't decide between Magic and KAJ

I only actually remember players from 2000 (when I was 8) on.. I don't like trying to pick the best or my favorites of all time, because I've never seen those old guys play. Yeah, I've seen highlights, but it's not the same, and I don't think it's enough to form an informed opinion on.

The Big O love is very en vogue these days but putting him in over Wilt? Over KAJ? Really?

Its so hard to make a mount rushmore because of how the game evolved over time. I'll give mine out but i'll only use retired players no one from Todays game
Magic, Bird, KAJ, MJ

Oscar Robertson
Wilt Chamberlain
Bill Russell
Michael Jordan

Darius Miles
Raymond Felton
Bonzi Wells
Greg Oden

MJ, LeBron, Kareem, and Magic

I base my list off players who would dominate in any era.

Russell would be a poor mans Dwight Howard today.

Kobe?

Shaq?

Hakeem?

Dude, honestly, you could take just about any superstar from the last twenty years and they would dominate in any era, but you couldn't take any star from 50's, 60's, or 70's that would dominate in any era.

Oscar Robertson
Wilt Chamberlain
Bill Russell
Michael Jordan

This is my list as well Big O for he crazy well rounded game, Wilt for his dominance, Bill for defense and winning, and Jordan for having a little of all 3.

My thinking was, who are the 4 players who changed the face of the game.

Then you have to put "The Stilt" in there. The NBA changed rules of the game because of his ability. Just imagine a healthy Greg Oden 2.0... on steroids.

It's almost more interesting to me to pick "players of the decade".
50's--Cousy (barely over Mikan/Petit/Schayes)
60's--Robertson (yes, over Russell/Chamberlain)
70's--Kareem
80's--Magic
90's--Jordan
00's--Kobe
10's--Will it be Lebron, or Durant? :dunno:

Larry Bird, Bill Walton, Arvydas Sabonis, Tom Chambers

I think a "Mt Rushmore" should be to honor historical icons who established the league for its current beneficiaries. No one in the 'modern era' (whatever that is) should be on it. I hesitated to put MJ on mine for that reason, but in the end I think he did have that kind of impact on today's game.

I agree with every single pick.
