They give you better compression in the legs, which gets more blood moving, which keeps them warmer. I totally disagree with this because tights are very comfortable to some players. The tights are selling sex or selling a ganster image. This is just another bad move by the NBA

Some players wear tights because they feel better and sometimes help heal injuries(Olajuwan).

Tights also keep muscles from fatigueing because the tights keep the muscles in the legs close to the bone so they don't bounce/jiggle around when a player runs or sprints. This makes it easier to run in the 4th quarter and such.

I'll tell you what, I played 4 years of Varsity Football and I started wearing tights in my Sophomore year and wouldn't have played a game after without them.
