So, I just picked up the game last week and am wondering...

1. How are you guys dealing with the change in ISO-Motion? It's taking me forever to figure out B-Roy and Aldridge's moves now.... :(

2. Does the computer never miss from 3-range? I just played Houston, and Brooks goes for 31 points and 11 assists???? (on default difficulty) and they were 11-18 from downtown. (most of those made before I turned off their ability to hit 3's).

3. How come Jeff Pendergraph is rated 69, which is above Rudy, Nic, Joel, Pryz, Bayless, etc.

Apparently you still had Blakey on Brooks?

LoL -

I know, it was more like Miller and Blake, but sometimes Bayless. Probably my fault because I usually play the point-guard during the game. But still, never missed a shot... 5'11 and owns me.

I like to play as oden and get position for rebounds. If your getting burned by someone, have them play up on them tighter and force them to dish or drive.

Yes, I had to do a double take when i first saw it......

I could maybe see him ranked higher than Joel since Joel isnt a factor at all on offense. Bayless hasnt done much and played poor in the summer league, so maybe thats why he's ranked low. But there is no way at all Jeff should be ranked higher or even close to Rudy and Batum.

the computer will rarely miss a shot if you leave them open, since you said you like to use the PG on defense, i'll assume you chase the ball around and try to get steals and double and stuff, if thats the case, then the wide open pg will kill you every time regardless of the player. in this case, just D up the guy with the ball with the guy you're supposed to guard him with.

You gotta change your sliders man. The default sliders are bullshit. Ratings are bullshit too.

I have the game, but my XBox got the 3 red rings so I cannot play it :(

Yah, I was thinking about doing that, but I am not sure what I need to do to make it seem "realistic".... Any suggestions?

You can download sliders that others have made. Most popular at the moment are by Dev the HNIC, who is on the 3rd revision of his sliders, and is tinkering further to make a 4th. He details his changes here.

If you're like me, and just want to mess around, I recommend bumping player steals all the way up and 3pt shooting all the way up. It's hilarious to see Greg Oden steal the ball from a PG and then hit a 3 like he was standing under the basket. Unrealistic of course, but I play games to have fun, not to simulate reality. :P

Also what's up with Pendergraph being in the game, but not uninjured Cunningham?

This is what I do. I put it on the hardest skill level. What is it, Hall Of Fame or something? Then I adjust the sliders so that it is hard for me to beat the computer, but possible. Like, if you are playing the computer and they just keep hitting 3 after 3 after 3, then turn their 3 slider down to like 40. If they are stealing every pass you throw, turn their team steal slider down a bit. I always try to aim so that both teams can get to 100 and make it possible for me to beat them. On regular sliders, the computer beats the hell out of me.

Ya know?!

I also turn up the offensive\defensive awareness on the computer to about 85 because even on HoF level, the A.I. is still stupid sometimes. I also turn up the "fancy pass" rating for both teams and dunk success. Just to make the game more fun.

I'm liking it so far... picked it up yesterday.

Like any new hoops game, the new configuration is taking some time to get used to. However, it seems like a winner thus far.

Get a ps3 man, i got one after my 360 did that and haven't played my replaced 360 more than a couple times since. Free online is cool too.

I got the three red rings on my 360. Called Costco to see if they'd even consider taking replacing it after almost 3 years. They said Yes! I took it in, they gave me 500 cash back. I flipped a PS3 and 360 off of Craigslist. Both were Brand New. This was over a year ago so it was a great deal. Still rarely play either one though. PS3 is my Blu-Ray machine.

Have heard quite a bit about 2K10 though. Thinking I should grab it.

Did you have a receipt at Costco for the 3 year old XBox?

What is this 3 Red Rings you all speak of?

Went to Best Buy around 7:30PM tonight and had them search for a copy of 2k10 and they said they had none. I come home, reserve a copy for in store pick-up at the same store, expecting it to be at least tomorrow when I get an e-mail saying it is ready for pickup. Check my e-mail at 9:30PM and have an e-mail saying it is ready for in store pickup. They closed at 9 so I will wait til tomorrow.. but wtf?

I just played it tonight. Lost to the Lakers in L.A. by almost 40 points. Embarrassing. Then I played again and ran a pick and roll with Miller and LMA for most of the game and took them to OT but then lost by 7. At least it was close in the second game. I'll take the game to Portland tomorrow.

Play it man! You will love it.

I think I'll go pick it up tomorrow. I haven't played a basketball video game since 99! It seems a little crazy that you can go in and change the settings like you guys are talking about. If I get it, I'm sure I'll be on here asking for your guys help. Actually my 8 year old wants me to get it.

I think it should be pointed out that the RRoD errors have stopped being a big story since last summer when Microsoft made some changes to their hardware. As somebody who reads video game blogs on a daily basis, I've noticed a rather sharp decline in stories about the problem, and almost no complaints about newer versions of the console. Owing to this, I finally went ahead and bought a 360 about a month ago after nearly 2 years of wanting one, but being scared away by the looming threat of RRoD.

In summary: old 360s break more often (roughly 16% failure rate according to an independent survey in 2007) than the new 360s purchased within the last year to 6 months.
